CH-47F Qualified Flying Instructor

Opportunity:

A distinguished opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled CH-47F Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) to join the CISS Contract team in Townsville, commencing in January 2025. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the School of Army Aviation Chinook Wing, contributing to the training and development of future aviation professionals.

Responsibilities:

The QFI will be responsible for providing comprehensive instruction across various platforms, including:

  • Conducting CH-47F airborne instruction.
  • Delivering CH-47F synthetic instruction.
  • Providing CH-47F ground instruction.
  • Participating in CH-47F general flying operations.
  • Executing related flying, instructional, and administrative duties.
  • Maintaining flight currency and qualifications in accordance with AAAvn Command requirements.
  • Cultivating a safe and effective working environment.
  • Actively contributing to the continuous enhancement of team performance.

Experience/Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Possession of a CH-47F QFI Category C qualification.
  • CH-47F NVIS Command certification.
  • Group 4 Instrument Rating.
  • CASA Commercial Pilot Licence – Helicopter (CPL-H) or higher.
  • Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Current CASA Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance of Non-Vetted Level 1.

Desirable:

  • CH-47F QFI Category B/A qualification.
  • Group 4 Instrument Rating Assessor certification.
  • CH-47F TFPS Instructor Operator Simulator qualification.
  • CH-47F Maintenance Pilot qualification.
  • Experience as a Simulator Reference Pilot.

Physical Requirements:

This position has specific physical requirements which will be formally assessed by the Environment Health & Safety Department in consultation with the recruitment manager. Details will be incorporated into the position description.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to fulfill Defence security obligations.
