CH-47F Qualified Flight Instructor (QFI) – School of Army Aviation, Townsville

Boeing Defence Australia seeks a highly skilled and experienced CH-47F Qualified Flight Instructor (QFI) to join its Chinook Wing within the School of Army Aviation based in Townsville, commencing January 2025. This crucial role contributes directly to the training and operational readiness of the Australian Defence Force.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive CH-47F flight instruction across airborne, synthetic, and ground training environments. Further duties encompass general CH-47F flying operations, associated administrative tasks, and maintaining current flying currency and qualifications as mandated by Australian Army Aviation Command. The role also includes fostering a safe and productive work environment and contributing to team performance improvements.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• CH-47F QFI Category C certification.
• CH-47F NVIS Command proficiency.
• Group 4 Instrument Rating.
• Current CASA Commercial Pilot Licence – Helicopters (CPL-H) or higher.
• Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Current CASA ASIC.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance (Negative Vetting 1).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• CH-47F QFI Category B/A certification.
• Group 4 Instrument Rating Assessor qualification.
• CH-47F TFPS Instructor Operator Simulator experience.
• CH-47F Maintenance Pilot qualification.
• Simulator Reference Pilot experience.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements are subject to assessment by Boeing Defence Australia's Environment Health & Safety Department and will be detailed in the formal position description.
