Expected Earnings: Approximately £39,000, inclusive of a £80 Daily Training Supplement and Per Diem while away from base.

Ascend Airways is establishing its initial operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024, operating a modern fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) within the ACMI market. Job Overview

Ascend Airways is actively seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join its Cabin Crew Training Team. This critical role involves providing exceptional training to cabin crew members and customers, ensuring paramount safety standards, service excellence, and professional development. The position is based in Gatwick, but extensive travel within the UK and overseas will be required to deliver training and support the ACMI business model. Flexibility and the ability to travel and spend time away from home are essential to support training projects. Flying duties may be rostered outside of training events, including operational flights, line checks, and cabin monitoring.

Working hours and patterns will be variable, potentially including weekends and bank holidays for training events, aligning with flight crew rosters. Days off in lieu will be provided as compensation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive ground school courses to both cabin crew and pilots from the company and its clients.
  • Conduct all training courses in a consistently professional manner.
  • Utilise diverse instructional methods to accommodate various learning styles.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of training materials and resources.
  • Mentor and support new crew members and fellow instructors during training and onboarding processes.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to Cabin Services and Training Management.
  • Ensure the consistency and quality assurance of all training content.

Crew Member Operations

  • Undertake assigned duties and office days as directed by the Head of Cabin Crew Training.
  • Promote and implement potential areas for improvement and innovation to maintain high delivery standards.
  • Participate in departmental audits and reviews as required by the Head of Cabin Crew Training.
  • Attend regular training team meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of two years of training and assessment experience within a commercial airline or equivalent (classroom-based).
  • Possession of a 'Train the Trainer' qualification or a recognised teaching and learning certification.
  • Experience in delivering Safety Equipment Procedures (SEP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Fire and Smoke, Wet Drills, and aircraft-specific training in a classroom or practical setting.
  • A solid understanding of UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations.
  • Proven experience in delivering training to diverse groups.
  • Operational experience as an In-Charge Senior Cabin Crew Member (SCCM).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Dangerous Goods qualification.
  • CRMT Certificate and experience in its delivery.
  • AET Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Valid CIN and the ability to deliver UK Department for Transport (DfT) aviation security courses.
  • Experience on the Boeing 737NG or -8 MAX aircraft.
  • Experience in conducting line checks and onboard compliance checks.
  • UK CCA (Cabin Crew Attestation) and a valid UK Cabin Crew Medical.
