PURPOSE : The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering theoretical and ground-based instruction to aspiring pilots.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver instruction in a classroom environment.
  • Deliver synchronous distance learning.
  • Deliver instruction in flight training devices (FTD).
  • Deliver instruction in full flight simulators (FFS).
  • Accurately and promptly document training activities.
  • Accurately and objectively report training progress to the Director - Flight Standards and Training or their designee.
  • Interact with all Avelo crew members and business partners in a professional and respectful manner.

Requirements

  • Aviation instructional experience
  • Part 121 pilot experience
  • 1 year experience as an instructor in a certificate holder's program OR 1 year experience in the B-737.
  • ATP
  • Strong instructional skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong computer skills

X-FACTORS:

  • Airline instructional experience (preferred)
  • Full motion simulator instructional experience (preferred)
  • B-737 type rating (preferred)

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, etc.)
