First Officer Position – Boeing B787 – Taiwan
This esteemed opportunity presents a challenging and rewarding career path for a First Officer to join our team based in Taiwan. This is a 4-year renewable contract position flying the Boeing B787 aircraft. A competitive commuting program is available.
Requirements:
- Flight Experience: Applicants must possess either 2000+ total flight hours, including 500+ hours on multi-engine, multi-crew jet aircraft with a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) exceeding 20 tons; or 1500+ total flight hours, including 1000+ hours on multi-engine, multi-crew jet aircraft with an MTOW exceeding 20 tons. Additionally, 400+ hours of civil aviation co-pilot experience are required. Five years of civil aviation employment references are necessary for non-bachelor degree holders; two years for those holding a bachelor's degree or higher.
- Age: No age restriction.
- Language Proficiency: ICAO Level 4 English language proficiency or higher is mandatory.
- Nationality: No nationality restrictions apply.
- Licenses and Certifications: A valid ICAO ATPL, JAA ATPL(A), or FAA ATPL with a first-class medical certificate is required. The license must show no limitations. A Type Rating is not required.
- Medical Certification: A Class A or Class One medical certificate is essential.
- Other Qualifications: Candidates must have a clean record, free from any flight incidents, accidents, or criminal history. Successful applicants will need a US visitor visa, a C1D visa, or be a US visa-free citizen to report for duty.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Annual Salary Package: Up to NT$2,460,000 per year (a program with an annual salary package of NT$2,724,000 - NT$2,760,000 based on 75 hours + bonus + per diem is also available). Monthly salary during training is NT$227,000 - NT$230,000; subsequently NT$157,500 - NT$159,500. Flight hour details are available upon request.
- Days Off: Eight days off per month for non-commuting contracts. Commuting contracts offer eight block days off (BDO) per month, plus additional days off interspersed throughout the year, totaling approximately 116-117 days off annually.
- Leave: Annual leave starts at 22 days per year (accruing to 42 days with seniority, commencing three months after the first operational flight). Thirty days of paid sick leave are provided annually.
- Bonus: A thirteenth-month bonus may be paid, calculated as the average of the previous twelve months' salary.
- Travel Benefits: Privilege travel (one free passage per calendar year for the pilot and eligible dependents) commences three months after the first operational flight. Concessional travel (rebate) is available to the pilot, their parents, and eligible dependents after the completion of the first operational flight. Specific details are outlined in the most current EVA Air Pilot Administration Manual.
- Housing: Company accommodation or a housing allowance is provided.
- Other Allowances and Benefits: A per diem of US$3.5 per duty hour (as per the Pilot Administration Manual – PAM) is offered. A 75% rebate on air cargo (up to 100kg or 1 CBM) is available once per year after route training. Medical insurance (National Health Insurance with 30% employee contribution), accident insurance (up to 45 months' salary compensation), and loss of license insurance (subject to the most current policy, from the first operational flight to age 55) are provided.
Taxation, Pension, and Other Information:
Taxation adheres to Republic of China (ROC) tax laws (13-21%, dependent on dependents and salary). Pension benefits are subject to ROC Labor Standard Law. A six-month probationary period commences after the first operational flight. Annual salary increments are subject to satisfactory performance and the Airline’s financial standing.
