Captain, Non Type Rated - Boeing 737 (NG/MAX)
Ascend Airways, a new AOC holder operating a fleet of Boeing 737 (NG and MAX) aircraft within the ACMI market, has established its first operational base at London Gatwick Airport (LGW). The company is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Non Type Rated Captain. This presents an excellent opportunity for experienced pilots to secure a Boeing 737 Type Rating.
Type Rating & Bond
A comprehensive Boeing 737 Type Rating course is offered, supported by a bond agreement. The bond amount is £35,000, covering the cost of the type rating over a 3-year period. Should employment cease prior to the completion of the 3-year term, a pro-rata repayment structure applies:
- Leaving within 1-12 Months after completion: Full cost of the course.
- Leaving within 13-24 Months after completion: Two thirds of the cost of the course.
- Leaving within 25-36 Months after completion: One third of the cost of the course.
Compensation & Benefits
Ascend Airways offers a competitive remuneration package, including:
- Gross Annual Basic Salary: £120,000
- Pension Contribution: 6% (based on basic salary)
- Flight Pay: £13 per block hour
- Annual Loyalty Payment: £4,000 (pro rata for part-time employees), commencing from May 25th.
- Per Diems: Paid at the maximum permissible tax-free rate when away from base, varying by destination.
Employment Terms
The role includes favourable working conditions:
- Minimum of 10 days off per month.
- 42 days of annual leave.
- Annual leave restricted to a maximum of eight days between 1 June and 15 September.
- Company-paid parking at the base airport.
- Company-paid medical certificate renewals.
- Three designated 'golden days' per year, scheduled as guaranteed days off at the home base.
- Loss of license insurance coverage.
- Travel insurance including death insurance during company travel.
- Further benefits in accordance with prevailing company policies.
Candidate Requirements
Prospective Captains must meet the following essential criteria:
- Possess an unrestricted right to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- Hold a UK Class One Medical Certificate without operational restrictions (excluding corrective lenses).
- Maintain a residential address located within a 90-minute commuting distance of London Gatwick Airport (LGW).
- Hold a valid UK ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence).
- Accumulate a minimum of 3,000 hours total flight time on aircraft with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) exceeding 60 tonnes.
- Possess a minimum of 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on any Boeing or Airbus aircraft type.
