Fixed Wing Captain Role
The Fixed Wing Captain, as pilot in command (PIC), is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional operation of assigned flight duties. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors and abilities to coordinate crew functions and complete the mission in accordance with all applicable local, federal, and international regulations, as well as company policies and standard operating procedures.
The primary role of the Fixed Wing Captain is to deliver safe and professional, world-wide air transportation to the clients of the American Express Aviation business unit. The Captain will collaborate with all crew members, maintenance technicians, dispatch personnel, and aviation leadership to execute on the assigned mission.
This position will be based in Newburgh, New York at Stewart International Airport.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Fixed Wing Captain with American Express Aviation

Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy, registered and that the required documentation is onboard the aircraft.

Checks weather and all applicable NOTAMs, where available, and determines fuel, oil and oxygen requirements.

Determines the aircraft weight and balance.

Ensures that all flight planning requirements have been met.

Ensures that aircraft crewmembers have valid licenses, medical certificates, passports and visas (when required).

Completes an aircraft preflight inspection before each departure.

Ensures the passenger safety brief is completed.

Coordinates with Dispatch, Maintenance, other crew members, and external agencies in the planning and execution of flight duties.

Operates the aircraft per SOPs, aircraft limitations, and in accordance with applicable FAA/ICAO rules and regulations.

Maintains currency requirements by type and ensures the currency of aircraft crewmembers prior to flight.

Ensures compliance with customs, immigration and cabotage laws.

Leads the crew utilizing appropriate crew resource management in the accomplishment of all trip requirements.

Completes all postflight duties, including notifying the company of deviations to any planned itinerary or overnight location.

Records flight times and aircraft maintenance items.
Skills/Experience
Required Skills:

Prior large turbine aircraft operating experience as PIC

Exhibits enthusiasm, passion, and curiosity for Aviation

Preferred Additional Skills:
Prior work experience in corporate/business aviation
Requirements/Qualifications

FAA-issued Air Transport Pilot certificate with multi-engine rating (GV, GVI, or GVII type rating preferred)

English proficiency pilot certificate endorsement

Current FAA first-class medical, and ability to maintain

Up-to-date immunization/vaccine record (subject to review by Amex Medical)
