Role Overview
Micron Technology is seeking a highly skilled Director of Aviation to oversee the strategic planning, scheduling, and safe execution of its corporate flight operations. Based in Boise, Idaho, the successful candidate will lead a dedicated aviation team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and service quality to support global business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development

Hire, develop, and inspire a high-performing team within a safety-focused and accountable work environment.

Set performance expectations and support the professional growth of all aviation department staff.
Flight Operations & Safety
-
Oversee the safe execution of all domestic, international, and charter flight activities.

Establish and improve comprehensive aviation safety programs and monitor safety metrics.

Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, FARs, company policies, and industry best practices.
Strategic & Operational Planning

Develop and present short- and long-term strategic plans, including performance objectives and priorities.

Manage scheduling policies to ensure resource optimization and effective conflict resolution.
Aircraft, Maintenance & Compliance

Maintain airworthiness, aircraft inspections, and strict maintenance standards.

Manage all aviation documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Foster strong relationships with the FAA, manufacturers, and maintenance providers.
Financial & Vendor Management

Oversee the aviation operating budget and ensure adherence to financial targets.

Collaborate with procurement to negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance.
Flight Crew Participation

May perform limited duties as a flight crewmember when appropriately qualified and scheduled.
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of experience in private or corporate aviation, including leadership experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations, safety management practices, and corporate flight operations.

Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building capabilities.

Airline Transport Pilot Rating.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience operating Gulfstream aircraft.

Prior experience managing a multi-aircraft corporate fleet.

GVI or GVIII type rating.
Licensure

Ability to pilot fixed-wing aircraft for passenger transport as required.
