Aviation Maintenance and Flight Line Operations
The Plane Captain performs aircraft handling, servicing, and daily/turnaround inspections. Responsibilities include pre-operational inspections, fueling ground support equipment, and providing technical assistance and guidance to subordinate personnel.
This role involves physical movements and postures associated with shop/hanger/flight line maintenance, including bending, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, stretching, kneeling, and working in uncomfortable positions. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. May require lifting objects up to 70 pounds. Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods. Requires close vision (including color vision), peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear at the normal range. May require respirator use.
Work conditions can range from minimal discomfort to environments with inclement weather, including temperature changes, wind, and rain. May involve high noise hazards, electrical shock hazards, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
Employees are responsible for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes completing all training requirements, fulfilling self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participating in emergency response, and serving on safety committees and teams.
