Aviation professionals are invited to apply for the position of Second in Command (SIC) pilot for B737-600NG aircraft. The successful candidate will operate the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, transporting both passengers and cargo. This role requires the ability to seamlessly assume the duties of Pilot in Command (PIC) should the need arise.
Responsibilities include piloting the aircraft, ensuring the safety of all onboard, and maintaining strict adherence to regulations and directives. The SIC will perform duties as pilot flying (PF) and pilot monitoring (PM), review pre-flight documentation, and maintain thorough familiarity with all relevant manuals, including the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), the Airman's Information Manual (AIM), and the aircraft's Flight Crew Operations Manual (FCOM). The candidate will also be responsible for calculating aircraft weight and balance and takeoff/landing data.
The ideal candidate will possess a current US DOT/FAA First Class Medical Certificate (with EKG if applicable), a US DOT/FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a B737 type rating and no restrictions, a US DOD TS/SCI security clearance, a current US DHS/TSA LAS airport badge, a valid US passport or birth certificate, a current US driver’s license, and will adhere to all US DOT 14 CFR requirements for pilots. A minimum of 1,500 total in-seat hours as a crewmember in fixed-wing powered aircraft is required. The incumbent will maintain training and checking currency as mandated by company policy and 14 CFR Part 121.
The work environment is primarily within the aircraft cockpit, a confined space with potential for high noise levels, extreme temperatures, and low humidity. The role may involve exposure to physical and mental stress due to in-flight events, adverse weather, and other environmental factors. While primarily a sedentary role, the position requires some physical activity involving walking, bending, stretching, climbing, and manipulating controls from a seated position.
This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality. The chosen candidate must actively participate in maintaining a secure work environment, complete all required training, participate in emergency response efforts, and comply with all company quality policies, procedures, and customer contract requirements. All employees are expected to implement general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental standards in their day-to-day activities.
