Job Summary

The First Officer position guarantees a minimum of seventy-two (72) flight hours per month and reports directly to the Chief Pilot. The ideal candidate will possess a valid FAA ATP certificate, a First-Class Medical Certificate, and hold a type rating on multi-engine aircraft, with a B-737 type rating being preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), exhibit exceptional communication skills, and be capable of upholding Eastern Air Express’s values within a demanding operational environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Captain in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of every flight.
  • Assists the Captain with the safe operation of the aircraft, passengers, cargo, and crew.
  • Performs flight duties as delegated by the Captain and assumes command if the Captain becomes incapacitated.
  • Maintains awareness of Captain responsibilities and accepts delegated authority as required.
  • Ensures strict compliance with all FARs, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains a current First-Class Medical Certificate and promptly reports any condition affecting flight fitness.
  • Upholds professionalism, teamwork, and clear communication throughout all phases of flight.

Required Qualifications

  • 2,000 hours of total flight time, including a minimum of 500 hours in turbojet aircraft.
  • Valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • Valid FAA First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid passport with eligibility for worldwide travel.
  • English proficiency at ICAO Level 4 or higher.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • A robust record of safety and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating narrow-body aircraft.
  • Crew Resource Management (CRM) training and/or experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to multitask effectively and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to adhere to schedules determined by seniority, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Extensive travel is required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug testing, alcohol testing, and criminal history records check (CHRC).

Location

Candidates must reside within a 2-hour radius of either Miami International Airport or Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
