Director of Flight Training

Location: Denver, Colorado (preferred)
Reports to: Director of Operations

Job Purpose:

Alpine Air seeks a highly qualified and experienced Director of Flight Training to oversee and manage all aspects of ground-based, aircrew training device (ATD), and flight training programs for aircraft crew members. The successful candidate will uphold Alpine Air's rigorous standards of excellence in safety, piloting proficiency, crew resource management (CRM), and customer relations. This leadership role requires exceptional professional interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to teamwork. Preference is given to candidates located in or willing to relocate to Denver, Colorado. The Director of Flight Training reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish comprehensive flight training requirements.
• Ensure all developed training programs align with FAA-approved standards, regulations, and technical publications.
• Meticulously maintain training records within the electronic record-keeping system.
• Actively participate as a ground instructor for specific Company curriculum segments as required.
• Responsible for the development of new training courses and updating existing ones to reflect current subject matter or manual revisions.
• Conduct engaging live classroom training.
• Develop and maintain accurate training class schedules.
• Ensure sufficient facilities and qualified personnel are available for all training activities.
• Perform additional administrative and collateral duties including record keeping, monitoring student progress, providing counseling, training program development, and overall program maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Commercial Pilot Certificate.
• Possess an FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• Meet the pilot requirements set forth in 14 CFR Part 135.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations and guidance.
• Ability to successfully complete the company's training program and demonstrate proficiency in job requirements.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, and fluently understand English.
• Possess professional communication skills suitable for complex internal and external aviation communications.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree strongly preferred.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Be eligible to work in the U.S. and have resided in the U.S. for at least 4.5 of the past 5 years.

Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position includes classroom settings and simulator equipment located within indoor facilities, unaffected by external weather conditions. While performing duties, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electronic systems, and potentially industrial hydraulic fluids. The noise level in the primary work environment is typically low.

Compensation:

This is a full-time position. In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the full-time salary range is $110,000 - $130,000 annually. A salary of $150,000 is available with a one-year employment contract.

The position requires the ability to frequently bend, twist, and lift, practicing safe lifting methods.
