Director of Flight Training

Location: Denver, Colorado (Preferred)
Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

Alpine Air is actively seeking a full-time Director of Flight Training, ideally based in Denver, Colorado. This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive management of ground, aircrew training device (ATD), and flight training programs for aircraft crew members. The successful candidate will uphold Alpine Air's stringent standards of excellence across safety, piloting proficiency, crew resource management, and customer relations. This position requires a professional with exceptional interpersonal skills and a dedicated team-player mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Flight Training's duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Establishing and defining flight training requirements for aircrew members.
  • Ensuring all developed training programs align with the FAA-approved training program and comply with all applicable regulations and technical publication requirements.
  • Maintaining meticulous and accurate training records within the electronic record-keeping system.
  • Serving as a ground instructor for specific Company curriculum segments as required.
  • Leading the development of new training courses and diligently updating existing courses to reflect changes in subject matter or operational manuals.
  • Conducting engaging and effective live classroom training sessions.
  • Developing and managing efficient training class schedules.
  • Ensuring the availability of adequate facilities and qualified personnel to support training activities.
  • Performing essential administrative and collateral duties related to training, including record keeping, monitoring student progress, providing counseling, refining training programs, and maintaining program documentation.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the following general qualifications:

  • Must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Must hold a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Must meet applicable Part 135 pilot requirements.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge of FAA regulations and guidance.
  • Ability to successfully complete the Company's training program and demonstrate proficiency in job requirements.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to read, write, and fluently understand English.
  • Proven professional communication skills, particularly for complex internal and external aviation communications.
  • High School Diploma required; a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred.
  • Required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have resided in the U.S. for 4.5 of the past 5 years.

Working Conditions:

While primarily based indoors, this position involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electronic systems, and potential exposure to industrial hydraulic fluids. Work is conducted in a classroom setting and within simulator equipment located indoors, independent of external weather conditions. The typical noise level in the work environment is usually low.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time position. In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the full-time salary range for this role is $110,000 – $130,000. A salary of $150,000 is available with a one-year employment contract. Alpine Air offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous Paid Time Off, eight (8) paid holidays annually, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
