This role involves providing KC-135 Aircraft Systems and operational procedures instruction in aircraft, classroom, simulator, and/or practical environments. The instructor assists as a Subject Matter Expert in developing curriculum for new courses and may provide additional special services including courseware review and various administrative duties such as publications, safety, quality audits, FCIF, and scheduling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning is required. The role requires eight years of total flying experience, including five years of military experience, with at least two years as a KC-135 Pilot flight instructor with training management experience. Recent experience as a KC-135 Instructor Pilot or Evaluator Pilot is essential. Completion of a formal USAF Instructor training course is also required. Strong facilitation and data analysis skills are necessary.

Qualifications

The candidate must satisfactorily perform each duty. This position requires the ability to participate in periodic aircraft familiarization flights, maintain proficiency in emergency procedures, and work with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work overtime and any shift or day of the week as required is necessary. The incumbent must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Skills and Abilities

The role demands the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints, and generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects. Mathematical skills are required for calculating figures, amounts, prices, commissions, percentages, and interpreting graphs. Reasoning ability is needed to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include potential domestic and international travel. The employee must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders into a simulator or airplane cockpit, stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under machinery. The ability to detect odors or hear noises to identify problems in simulator functioning is required. The work environment is typically a regular office environment involving communication via personal computer, telephone, and fax. There is a risk of electrical shock and exposure to moving mechanical parts driven by high-pressure hydraulics. The employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.

Security Responsibilities

The incumbent must comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures. Personal responsibility for proper marking and handling of all information and materials is required. Information shall not be divulged to employees without a need-to-know or outside the company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company-provided resources. Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance is mandatory.
