Flight Training Instructor

Airbus Miami is seeking a highly qualified Flight Training Instructor to join its team at the Airbus Training Center (ATC) in Miami, Florida. This position offers the opportunity to deliver world-class flight training to airline customers, primarily those based in the Americas, using state-of-the-art full-flight simulators and training devices for the A320, A330, A340, and A350 XWB families of aircraft. The ATC trains over 2,000 cadets annually and is a critical hub for aviation training excellence. Airbus Miami is offering both full-time and temporary part-time positions.

Responsibilities:

The Flight Training Instructor will be responsible for:

  • Delivering flight training in accordance with Airbus standard policy and standardization procedures.
  • Providing instruction to trainees on various training devices, including full-flight simulators.
  • Evaluating the progress of flight crews throughout training sessions.
  • Producing detailed written reports and grading of trainee performance at the conclusion of each session.
  • Identifying when additional training is necessary to ensure desired proficiency levels are reached.
  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement and development of training documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience operating with an airline.
  • Possession of, or previous possession of, an FAA ATP or Commercial Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine, with an Airbus aircraft type rating. Preference given to those with A320, A330 or A350 type ratings.
  • A minimum of 4,000 hours of total flight time.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours in a jet category aircraft.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Fluency in English with the ability to teach, brief, and debrief effectively.
  • Substantial experience as a Simulator Flight Instructor (SFI) or Type Rating Instructor (TRI) on A320, A330 or A350 aircraft.
  • Ability to compose comprehensive progress reports for submission to airlines or aviation authorities.
