Second in Command (SIC) - Fixed Wing Aviation
This position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team of aviation professionals dedicated to the safe and efficient execution of flight operations. As the Second in Command, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and successful completion of each flight.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the SIC on assigned flights, adhering to the principles and procedures outlined in FAR Part 135.
- Collaborate with the Pilot in Command (PIC) to ensure the safe and efficient conduct of all flight duties.
- Exercise Operational Control on Tier 2 level, as outlined in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual.
- Maintain adherence to the minimum qualifications specified by Federal Aviation Regulation Part 135.245.
Schedule:
- Pilots work on a rotating schedule of seven days on followed by seven days off.
- While on duty, pilots are expected to work a 12-hour shift (or up to the maximum allowed under Part 135 if on mission).
- Pilots must be able to meet the designated call-out time from their home location to ensure timely departure for each trip.
- Shifts are assigned on a monthly basis by the Base Lead Pilot, consisting of either a day or night duty period.
- Pilots can expect to serve the same duty period throughout their assigned seven days on shift, with rotation to the next duty period on their subsequent seven-day shift.
- Changes to duty periods within a seven-day shift are discouraged but may occur based on local needs at the Base.
Qualifications:
- Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, San Antonio, TX.
- Must hold, or be able to attain, a BE-400 PIC Type Rating.
- Must hold, or be eligible to hold, an FAA ATP Certificate.
- Must meet or exceed the following total flight experience:
- Total Time - 1500 hours Airplane
- Multi-Engine - 250 hours
- PIC - 250 hours Airplane
- Must hold an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Must hold a valid US Passport.
