Our organization seeks a highly qualified and experienced Second in Command (SIC) to join our flight operations team based in San Antonio, TX. The SIC will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient execution of flight duties, in accordance with FAR Part 135 regulations and company procedures. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and a collaborative approach to teamwork. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pilot in Command (PIC), supporting the PIC's ultimate authority and exercising operational control at the Tier 2 level as outlined in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual.
Pilots operate on a rotating schedule of seven days on duty followed by seven days off. Duty shifts are 12 hours in duration (or up to the maximum permitted under Part 135 when on mission), commencing from home base. Adherence to specified call-out times is essential to ensure timely flight departures. Shift assignments (day or night) are scheduled monthly by the Base Lead Pilot to facilitate rest cycle planning. Pilots generally maintain the same duty period throughout their seven-day on-duty cycle. While changes may occur to meet operational needs, they are discouraged.
This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and safety-focused aviation team. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package.
