Purpose of Position
The First Officer Pilot is entrusted with providing a superior air transportation experience, upholding an impeccable safety record on every flight. As the representative of NetJets, the pilot delivers not only technically proficient and secure transportation but also an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger. This role requires the pilot to expertly fulfill diverse responsibilities, ranging from professional aviator to in-flight service provider, ensuring a concierge-level service. The pilot maintains absolute command of the aircraft at all times and must consistently exhibit a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensures the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, takeoff, and landing in strict adherence to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM), Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
- Greets Owners/passengers pre-flight, introduces themselves, provides a detailed flight/trip briefing, verifies the itinerary, and offers passengers weather updates and safety briefings, communicating any itinerary adjustments.
- Delivers in-flight services as required, including the responsible handling and serving of alcoholic beverages and catering.
- Loads and correctly stows all baggage on the aircraft as necessary.
- Handles and conducts flights for Owners who travel with pets and those who smoke.
- Serves as the ultimate authority on the aircraft concerning all operational aspects, including strict compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
- Acts as a vital liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from the moment Owners/passengers arrive at the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) until they have safely landed at their final destination and departed the FBO.
- Responsible for accurately communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the Company via the assigned fleet's Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller.
- Completes all required documentation pertaining to maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on specific assignments.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) or meeting requirements for Restricted ATP (R-ATP).
- Current First Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
- Valid Passport.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and unrestricted international travel.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Experience: Not Specified.
- Flight Time Requirements (for FAA ATP/R-ATP eligibility):
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- 1,500 hours total flight time, or
- 1,250 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or
- 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification, or
- 1,000 hours with an appropriate university R-ATP certificate.
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time (>50 nm).
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with at least 45 night takeoffs and landings.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, simulator time excluded).
- 50 hours of fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
- ATP written examination completed prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.

- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Must be able to work varying hours, including days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must demonstrate extreme flexibility and the ability to adapt to rapid changes.
- Must be capable of managing personal rest to ensure readiness for flight duty throughout their tour.
- Duty periods may extend up to fourteen hours daily for up to eight consecutive days, potentially spanning multiple time zones and experiencing extreme weather variations during a trip.
- May be away from home for seven or more consecutive days and nights, residing in hotels.
- Must be able to obtain appropriate airport authority and/or U.S. Customs security badges.
- Must successfully pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required background screening.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
- Must possess a service-oriented attitude with a neat, well-groomed appearance and a demonstrated ability to make a positive impression, including exceptional passenger interaction skills.
- Must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly under pressure.
- Must demonstrate the capacity for making prompt and accurate decisions while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, encompassing both technical operations and passenger service.
- Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be comfortable working around animals and capable of handling and caring for them before, during, and after Owner flights.
- Must be able to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.
Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $86,015 - $117,706
