Air Methods, in partnership with HCA Healthone AirLife, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fixed Wing Pilot for a temporary, full-time role based in Englewood, CO. This vital position involves operating BE200 (Beechcraft King Air 200) aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) to provide critical air medical transport services to communities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities

Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner.

Complete pre-flight inspections before every flight, verifying aircraft airworthiness via the Daily Flight Log.

Serve as the final authority regarding aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.

Maintain thorough familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems of primary and backup aircraft utilized in the operational area, ensuring the medical flight team is comfortable with the medical interior and systems.

Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.

Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards.

Participate regularly in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
Qualifications
To succeed as a Fixed Wing Pilot, candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications:
Education & Experience

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

Two (2) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Operational & Safety Requirements
-
Maintain a weight not to exceed 250 pounds.
-
Be less than seventy (70) years old.
-
Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Program Flight Time
-
2500 total flight hours, with a minimum of 2000 flight hours in category.

1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) in category.
-
500 hours of cross-country flight time, at least 50 hours of which were at night.

500 hours of turbine time.

100 hours night flight time.
-
100 hours of flight in actual instrument conditions in category.
Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations

Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft); an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating in category meets this requirement.

Fixed wing multi-engine rating is required for twin-engine aircraft (essential for BE200 operations).

First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
Salary and Compensation
The annual salary for this temporary Fixed Wing Pilot position ranges from $82,900 to $93,251 USD, based upon flight and EMS experience.
