Responsibilities:

Pilot and Aviation Instructional Systems Specialist for AFWERX, Agility Prime and Autonomy Prime, the center of innovation for the Air Force.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

- Oversee curriculum design, advise on the development and evaluation of training for a diverse class of crewed and uncrewed electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and emerging autonomous systems.
- Review, design, and develop competency-based training programs for operators and maintainers of novel, highly-autonomous crewed and uncrewed aircraft systems; Analyze effectiveness of training programs.
- Attain and maintain currency in general aviation aircraft, helicopters, and uncrewed aircraft using the allotted flying hours.
- Provide military subject matter expertise in aviation learning to improve engagement, retention, and competency for dual use technology.
- Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the Department of Defense and industry.
- Collaborate with commercial/federal partners to synergize training policy for federal rulemaking.
- Organize, plan, and lead engaging training workshops/site visits.
- Ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved contract agreements.
- Foster team collaboration, conflict resolution, and decision making.
- Support and provide tours, informational releases, and networking opportunities to further AFWERX Agility Prime/Autonomy Prime relations.
- Provide assistance to government leads at the AFWERX Agility Prime/Autonomy Prime.
- Able to work on-site at the Port of San Antonio at least 3 days per week; teleworking is allowed on the other days. Able to travel up to 40%.

Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship is required.
Able to get a Secret Clearance
At least 2-10 years of experience is desired.
Instructor pilot experience in crewed or uncrewed systems is required.
Part 107 experience/certification is desired.
Currency in general aviation aircraft and/or rotorcraft is desired.
Basic aircraft maintenance exposure is desired.
Demonstrated experience with aviation courseware development is desired.
AI/ML experience is desired.
Strong analytical and communicative abilities (both written and verbal) are required.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities are required.
