Backup Helicopter Pilot – Electronic News Gathering (ENG)
iHeartMedia, the leading audio company in America, seeks a skilled and experienced Backup Pilot to support its Electronic News Gathering (ENG) operations based at North Perry Airport (KHWO), Miami, Florida. This part-time, seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic media organization while utilizing advanced piloting skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections and routine maintenance on all aircraft systems, ensuring full operational readiness in compliance with FAA regulations.
- Maintain seamless communication with air traffic control, coordinating flight routes and navigating varying weather conditions.
- Accurately track flight hours and utilize this data to schedule preventative maintenance, ensuring all instruments are certified according to FAA standards.
- Meticulously maintain comprehensive flight logs and pilot/aircraft records, adhering to all FAA regulations and federal guidelines.
- Actively participate in ongoing training programs and remain current on all FAA Airworthiness Directives and relevant publications.
- Operate the aircraft safely and efficiently, optimizing cost-effectiveness for each flight.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 500 hours total pilot time; 400 hours acceptable with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) License and documented dual instruction experience.
- Must possess Robinson R44 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time and fulfill all requirements outlined in SFAR 73.
- Commercial Rotorcraft License (Helicopter) or add-on to a Commercial Pilot’s License.
- Current FAA Class 1 or 2 Medical Certificate.
- Completion of the Robinson Safety Course and graduation from a certified flight school are highly preferred.
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating and Instrument Rating are preferred.
- Demonstrated customer focus and exceptional ability to manage stress effectively in challenging situations.
- High level of flexibility to accommodate varying flight schedules, including early mornings and late evenings.
- Commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor and fostering collaborative team dynamics.

Compensation and Benefits:

Location and Position Details:
This position is based virtually in the Eastern Standard Time zone of Florida and is part-time and seasonal. A non-compete agreement may be required.
