MH-60R Pilot – Instructor Pilot (IP) & Functional Check Flight (FCF)
Overview
This critical role seeks an accomplished MH-60R Pilot, designated as both an Instructor Pilot (IP) and a Functional Check Flight (FCF) Pilot. The incumbent will be responsible for executing essential instructional and test flights to rigorously assess and validate aircraft proficiency following maintenance or modification. A key component of this position involves delivering comprehensive pilot training and ensuring the sustained proficiency of aircrews operating the MH-60R helicopter.
Key Responsibilities
- Pilots and navigates the MH-60R helicopter with expert precision during various operational and test flights.
- Delivers specialized pilot training and proficiency instruction (IP) to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness and airmanship.
- Provides expert assistance to Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) designated FCF Pilots throughout all phases of maintenance functional check flights, including meticulous pre-flight briefings, rigorous in-flight checks, thorough post-flight procedures, and completion of all required FCF documentation.
- Collaborates effectively with maintenance contractors to troubleshoot in-flight discrepancies, verify the efficacy of maintenance actions, and confirm successful repairs through precise ground and flight checks.
- Contributes to the guidance and management of an approved MH-60R Flight Operations Program, ensuring stringent adherence to Navy flight manuals, instructions, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and local guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a current or past designation as a Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC).
- Demonstrated experience as an MH-60R Instructor Pilot (IP) is essential for this role.
- Prior designation as an MH-60R Instructor and Functional Check Flight (FCF) Pilot is a mandatory prerequisite.
- A minimum of 550 total flight hours is required, which must include at least 50 Helicopter Aircraft Commander (HAC) hours specifically in the MH-60R, and 100 hours of MH-60R FCF/Maintenance test flight experience.
- Must exhibit the capability to perform all assigned duties independently and with a high degree of proficiency.
- An active Secret security clearance is required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Candidates are required to successfully pass a comprehensive aeronautical/flight physical. The role necessitates physical agility, including the ability to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and crouch as dictated by operational duties within the aviation environment.
