First Officer

This vital role serves as the second-in-command, providing indispensable support to the Captain and sharing shared responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft. Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the Captain in maintaining ultimate responsibility and accountability for the safe operation of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo, ensuring rigorous compliance with UAE GCAA and international aviation regulations, company policies and procedures, and industry standards.
- Executes delegated flight duties in strict adherence to flydubai policies, aviation regulations, and safety standards, fostering professionalism and effective collaboration among crew through sound Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles, and upholding the airline’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Performs all duties with precision and professionalism, strictly adhering to flydubai’s Operations Manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and operational integrity, while applying sound CRM principles to propose alternative actions when necessary.
- Monitors aircraft systems, performance, and navigation diligently, promptly addressing irregularities and ensuring adherence to the flight plan. Proactively identifies, documents, and reports safety incidents, SOP deviations, or operational irregularities, highlighting opportunities for enhancing safety and efficiency, ensuring all reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted through appropriate channels in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks to verify the serviceability of emergency systems and flight deck equipment. Shares responsibility for the aircraft, passengers, crew, and overall operations from boarding to shut down, including overseeing activities like fueling and loading, and immediately alerts the Commander to any discrepancies.
- Assists the Captain with crew management responsibilities from the time of reporting for duty at the Base of Operations in Dubai through the conclusion of post-flight duties upon return, acting in a supporting role at outstations and during layovers, and contributing to the safe and efficient management of all aspects of flight operations.
- Supports the Captain, who as the aircraft Commander holds full accountability and responsibility for all operational decisions and the overall conduct of the flight, ensuring strict compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Acts as a flydubai brand ambassador, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and appearance while on duty and in public. Supports the Captain in ensuring the crew consistently upholds the flydubai corporate and brand image, reporting any inconsistencies through established reporting mechanisms.
- Conducts all flight duties in alignment with flydubai’s commercial objectives, expertly balancing operational efficiency with an unwavering commitment to aviation safety and full compliance with all regulatory requirements, ensuring that every decision made during flight operations supports the airline’s mission.
- Remains current with the latest UAE GCAA and international aviation legislation, operational standards, and industry best practices, proactively integrating this knowledge to ensure full legal compliance, adherence to procedures, and alignment with evolving industry trends and standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Fluent in English
- Minimum 2,500 hours total flying time.
- Minimum 1,000 hours on modern (EFIS), multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft over 10 tonnes operating weight (PIC time preferable).
- Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Pilot Aircraft (MPA) flying time.
- ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 or above.
- Unrestricted Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate from an ICAO Compliant State.
- ICAO Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).

Information Security Requirements:
Compliance with company Information Security policies is mandatory for the First Officer role. This includes reading and adhering to ISR policies, diligently reporting any weaknesses or incidents to the appropriate channels, completing all required ISR awareness sessions, and following associated guidelines in all day-to-day business operations.
