First Officer

The First Officer serves as second-in-command of the aircraft, providing crucial support to the Captain during all operational situations, both normal and abnormal, ensuring the highest standards of safety. This position demands exemplary conduct in all aspects of performance, representing flydubai as a brand ambassador and upholding the company's corporate image.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the aircraft as second-in-command.
  • Serve as a role model for all flydubai crew, contributing to the preservation of the company’s corporate image.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures by all crew members.
  • Report any breaches in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or safety protocols to the company or GCAA, utilizing appropriate reporting channels to promote continuous learning and enhance flight safety.
  • Maintain fitness for flight at all times, and promptly notify the company of any incapacitation.
  • Operate the aircraft in compliance with all approved policies and procedures set forth by flydubai and the GCAA.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Possession of an ICAO ATPL certificate with a valid type rating.
  • Valid 1st Class Medical certificate from an ICAO-recognized authority.
  • Proficiency in English to ICAO Level 4 or above.
  • Eligibility for a UAE residency visa.
  • Must have flown within the preceding 24 months.

Experience:

  • Endorsement on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) aircraft within the last 24 months.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time.
  • At least 500 hours of flight time on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type aircraft.

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ATPL subject matter.
  • Exceptional Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team.
  • Proven command ability and experience.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to consistently perform to a very high standard under pressure.

ISR Requirements:

The First Officer is expected to understand and adhere to the company's Information Security Requirements (ISR) policies, diligently reporting any identified weaknesses or incidents to the appropriate Line Manager or the Information Security team. They must also complete all mandatory ISR awareness training sessions and follow established guidelines during daily business activities.
