First Officer

This individual serves as second in command of the aircraft, providing crucial support to the Captain during all operational scenarios, both normal and abnormal, to ensure the highest level of safety. The First Officer consistently maintains and exemplifies superior standards in all facets of their duties while serving as a brand ambassador for flydubai, thereby upholding the company's image at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the safe daily operation of the aircraft in the capacity of second in command.
  • Sets a positive example for all flydubai crew, thereby contributing to the preservation of the company’s corporate image.
  • Guarantees adherence to all established policies and procedures by all members of the crew.
  • Reports any breaches in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) or safety protocols to the company or the GCAA via the appropriate channels to facilitate company-wide learning and to enhance flight safety.
  • Maintains personal fitness for flight duty at all times and promptly informs the company of any changes to this condition.
  • Operates the aircraft strictly in accordance with approved policies and procedures established by both flydubai and the GCAA.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Possession of a valid ICAO ATPL certificate with a current type rating.
  • Possession of a valid 1st Class Medical certificate from ICAO.
  • Demonstrates English language proficiency at ICAO level 4 or above.
  • Eligibility for a UAE residency visa.
  • Must have flown within the preceding 24 months.

Experience:

  • Endorsement on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) aircraft within the last 24 months.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of flight time on B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type aircraft.

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of ATPL subject matter.
  • Possesses excellent Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Demonstrates proven command capability and relevant experience.
  • Exhibits the capacity to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Capable of performing to an exceptionally high standard under pressure.

ISR Requirements:

The First Officer adheres to and complies with the company's Information Security Requirements (ISR) policies, diligently reports any weaknesses or incidents to the appropriate Line Manager or the Information Security team, completes all required ISR awareness training, and follows the relevant guidelines in all daily business operations.
