First Officer - flydubai

The First Officer serves as second in command of the aircraft, providing crucial support to the Captain in all operational scenarios, both routine and emergent. Their primary responsibility is to uphold the highest standards of safety at all times. Furthermore, the First Officer will exemplify flydubai’s core values, maintaining a professional demeanor and acting as a brand ambassador to project the company’s corporate image.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the safe day-to-day operation of the aircraft while functioning as second-in-command.
  • Sets a positive example for all flydubai crew, thereby preserving the corporate image of the airline.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all policies and procedures by all members of the flight crew.
  • Reports any breaches in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or safety protocols to the company or the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) through the established channels, contributing to organizational learning and the enhancement of flight safety.
  • Ensures that he/she is fit to fly at all times, promptly informing the company if this status is compromised.
  • Operates the aircraft in accordance with approved policies and procedures, as stipulated by flydubai and the GCAA.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

Minimum Qualification:
  • Possession of an ICAO ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) certificate with a valid type rating.
  • Possession of a 1st Class Medical certificate issued by an ICAO-recognized authority.
  • Proficiency in English to ICAO level 4 or above.
  • Eligibility for a UAE residency visa.
  • Recent flying experience within the last 24 months.
Experience:
  • Endorsement on the B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) aircraft within the last 24 months.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours specifically on the B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type aircraft.
Knowledge / Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of ATPL subjects.
  • Exceptional Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team.
  • Proven command ability and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to perform at a very high standard under pressure.

Information Security Responsibility (ISR) Requirements:

The First Officer is expected to read and comply with the ISR policies of the company, and diligently reports any weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. The First Officer will complete all required ISR awareness sessions and follows associated guidelines in the day-to-day business operations.
