Challenger 300 Second in Command (SIC)
Waltzing Matilda Aviation (WMA) is seeking a qualified and dedicated Second in Command (SIC) for its Challenger 300 operations. This full-time position, operating under FAR Part 135, is based in Long Beach, California, and reports to the Chief Pilot. The Challenger 300 SIC will be responsible for the aircraft and other duties as assigned, ensuring the safe operation of all flights. Well-qualified candidates may be eligible for upgrade to Pilot in Command (PIC) after a six-month probationary period.
General Requirements:
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must hold a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot Multi-Engine Land Rating (ATP).
- Must possess a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Must have a valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator's Permit.
- Must successfully pass a 10-year background check and FAA Drug and Alcohol Program testing.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States and travel internationally without restrictions.
- Must have experience operating under Part 135 regulations.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Flight Time Requirements:
- Minimum of 500 hours of turbine time is required.
- Must possess a current instrument proficiency check, line check, and route check.
- When evaluating flight time, consideration will be given to the quality, quantity, recency, and verifiability of training, the complexity of aircraft flown, types of flight operations, and hours flown as PIC in turbine-powered aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Type rating in the Challenger 300 is preferred.

Compensation:
Compensation is competitive within the industry for similar operators and equipment types and will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience.
