Leader, Crew Culture - Cabin Crew
Virgin Australia is seeking a dedicated and experienced Leader, Crew Culture to join their team in Perth. This is a secondment opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, coaching, and developing a team of customer service professionals that operate onboard the airline's aircraft. He or she will foster a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing team that makes every guest’s journey unforgettable.
Reporting to the Crew Culture Manager, the Leader, Crew Culture will drive team and operational performance in line with Virgin Australia’s values, policies, and KPIs. The individual will also play a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the cabin crew, taking a proactive approach to their needs and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire and motivate Cabin Crew, building an environment that delivers memorable experiences to every customer, every day.
- Ensure that the team meets operational targets, safety regulations, and performance metrics while maintaining a high level of service quality.
- Embed and lead a positive people culture in line with the Virgin Australia Group’s strategic vision and purpose.
- Facilitate performance management meetings, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and Fair Work standards.
- Ensure team members adhere to the Enterprise Agreement (EA), workplace regulations, and company policies.
- Support investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and compliant processes.
- Manage health and wellbeing of Cabin Crew members, including leading return-to-work processes, supporting employees with injury management, and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Support the day-to-day operation as required to ensure performance metrics are met.
Successful Candidate Profile:
- Minimum year 12 qualifications or equivalent.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in leading large diverse teams in a fast-paced business environment.
- Experience leading remote workforces.
- Experience with running performance management processes.
- Aviation experience is highly desirable.
- Proven trusted people leadership capability.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage business leaders.
- Ability to read, monitor, and understand behaviours and respond to affect positive outcomes.
- Ability to work a rotating roster (weekend work will be required).
- Ability to drive positive customer outcomes through a large diverse workforce.
- Good understanding of working to the scope of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
