An exciting opportunity exists to join the Melbourne team as a Leader, Crew Culture. This pivotal role involves leading Virgin Australia's award-winning Cabin Crew, recognised as Best Cabin Crew for seven consecutive years. The primary responsibility of the Leader, Crew Culture is to lead, support, coach, and develop a team of customer service professionals operating onboard the airline's aircraft.
Effective leadership will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing team dedicated to creating unforgettable guest journeys.
Reporting to the Crew Culture Manager, the Leader, Crew Culture is responsible for driving team and operational performance in alignment with Virgin Australia’s values, policies, and key performance indicators. This position also plays a key role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the crew through a proactive approach to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspires and motivates Cabin Crew, cultivating an environment that delivers memorable customer experiences daily.
- Ensures the team meets operational targets, safety regulations, and performance metrics while maintaining high service quality standards.
- Embeds and leads a positive people culture consistent with the Virgin Australia Group’s strategic vision and purpose.
- Facilitates performance management discussions, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Fair Work regulations.
- Ensures team members adhere to the Enterprise Agreement (EA), workplace regulations, and company policies.
- Supports investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and compliant processes.
- Manages the health and wellbeing of Cabin Crew members, including leading return-to-work processes, supporting employees with injury management, and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Supports day-to-day operations as required to ensure performance metrics are achieved.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum Year 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Proven leadership experience leading large, diverse teams within a fast-paced business environment.
- Experience leading remote workforces is essential.
- Demonstrated experience running performance management processes.
- Previous aviation industry experience is highly regarded.
- Trusted people leadership capability.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage business leaders.
- High level of emotional intelligence; the ability to read, monitor, and understand behaviours and respond to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to drive positive customer outcomes through leadership of a large, diverse workforce.
- Good understanding of working within the scope of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
