Leader, Crew Culture - Cabin Crew

Virgin Australia is seeking a passionate and experienced Leader, Crew Culture to join their Perth team. This is a secondment opportunity. The successful candidate will lead, support, coach, and develop a team of customer service professionals operating onboard Virgin Australia aircraft. This role is critical in fostering a collaborative, empowered, and high-performing team dedicated to providing unforgettable guest experiences.

Reporting to the Crew Culture Manager, the Leader, Crew Culture will drive team and operational performance in alignment with Virgin Australia’s values, policies, and key performance indicators. They will also champion the health and wellbeing of the cabin crew, proactively addressing their needs and supporting their professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and motivate Cabin Crew, cultivating an environment that delivers memorable customer experiences daily.
  • Ensure the team meets operational targets, safety regulations, and performance metrics while maintaining a high level of service quality.
  • Embed and lead a positive people culture consistent with the Virgin Australia Group’s strategic vision and purpose.
  • Facilitate performance management meetings, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Fair Work standards.
  • Ensure team members adhere to the Enterprise Agreement (EA), workplace regulations, and company policies.
  • Support investigations into workplace incidents, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and compliant processes.
  • Manage the health and wellbeing of Cabin Crew members, including leading return-to-work processes, supporting employees with injury management, and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support day-to-day operations as required to ensure performance metrics are achieved.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum year 12 qualifications or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in leading large, diverse teams in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Experience leading remote workforces.
  • Experience with running performance management processes.
  • Aviation experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven people leadership capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage business leaders.
  • Ability to assess and understand behaviors and respond effectively to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekend work.
  • Ability to drive positive customer outcomes through a large, diverse workforce.
  • Good understanding of working within the scope of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
