The Manager of Emergency Response & Business Continuity Planning is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing, supporting, and managing change for enterprise-wide Emergency Response (ER) and Business Continuity (BC) programs. This role involves enhancing organizational readiness, providing essential tools and resources, and ensuring consistent application of policies, processes, and best practices across all divisions. The Manager fosters critical relationships both internally within the airline and externally with key government agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive program leadership and change management for Emergency Response and Business Continuity initiatives across the enterprise.
- Analyze existing Emergency Response and Business Continuity plans to identify opportunities for enhancement and improve overall readiness.
- Equip the Emergency Response and Business Continuity teams with necessary tools and resources to effectively plan and execute programs.
- Ensure consistent application of established policies, processes, and industry best practices throughout ER/BC program implementation.
- Cultivate and maintain critical relationships with various internal divisions and key government agencies to facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Lead and oversee project management for the development and implementation of critical Emergency Response tools.
- Disseminate policy and procedure updates through appropriate communication channels, including bulletins, internal updates, and newsletters.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of Emergency Response programs, such as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Telephone Enquiry Centre (TEC), and Special Assistance Team (SAT), updating programs as necessary in collaboration with respective managers.
- Analyze emergency processes to identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
- Maintain and update the Emergency Response web page and Microsoft SharePoint site, ensuring information accuracy and accessibility.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience in a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing projects, demonstrating the ability to lead multiple large, complex projects across various functions.
- Proven experience presenting, escalating issues, and providing actionable solutions to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable business benefits through successful project execution.
- Proficiency in facilitating, delegating tasks, and motivating cross-functional groups or activities.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, and availability to be on-call 24/7 as required for emergencies.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or a minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience within the airline business and operations, with a particular focus on safety, business continuity, or emergency response.
- Experience with process/system mapping and analysis.
- Ability to effectively manage both business and technical resources within an integrated project plan.
- Exposure to change management facilitation, enterprise communication strategies, and training program development.
- Demonstrated successful project delivery utilizing fundamentals of PMBOK practices and methodologies.
- Understanding of key project management functions, including critical path analysis, total float, and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is competitive, ranging from $99,750.00 to $129,924.00 annually, dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
