Pilot Crew Scheduler
United Airlines is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Pilot Crew Scheduler to join its Flight Operations team. This individual will play a vital role in supporting pilots with their schedules, ensuring on-time flight departures across United's global network. This position operates within a dynamic, 24/7/365 environment, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, with potential for overtime as per department policies.
Job Overview and Responsibilities:
The Pilot Crew Scheduler is responsible for:
- Assigning open flying opportunities to qualified flight crew members in accordance with FAA Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the United Pilot Agreement, and company policies.
- Analyzing pilot staffing levels, time-off requests, assignments, and trip trades to optimize scheduling efficiency.
- Applying cost-effective scheduling practices while strictly adhering to all FAA FAR and United Pilot Agreement work rules.
- Assisting pilots with monthly schedule management, meticulously documenting absences, and performing transactions to ensure accurate crew pay.
- Maintaining pilot activity records and assuring data quality, including FAR compliance, flight time accuracy, and qualification data integrity.
- Maintaining expertise in Federal Aviation Regulations, pilot contract rules, and company policies to provide comprehensive 24/7 support to United Airlines pilots, delivering an exceptional level of internal customer service.
- Contributing to the training of new schedulers through on-the-job training sessions.
- Undertaking additional responsibilities related to crew scheduling operations and planning as required based on operational needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated track record of strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to exercise flexibility and sound judgment while effectively managing stress in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer usage and adaptability to new computer tools.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of the interview process to meet job qualifications.
- Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience; additional consideration will be given to specializations in aviation, transportation and logistics, strategic planning, engineering, or technology.
- 1-2 years of relevant crew scheduling or airline experience.
- 1-2 years of scheduling operations experience and/or experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring high-volume customer interaction.
The base pay range for this role is $52,725.00 to $71,830.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
