Job Description:

The Pilot Crew Scheduler will be responsible for providing essential support to pilots in managing their schedules. This role demands a highly organized and detail-oriented individual capable of ensuring on-time flight departures across United's worldwide network. This is an operational position within a 24/7/365 environment, requiring shift work including weekends and holidays, with potential for overtime in accordance with departmental policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign open flying to qualified flight crew members, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the United Pilot Agreement, and company policies.
  • Analyze pilot staffing, time-off requests, assignments, and trip trades to optimize resource allocation.
  • Apply cost-effective scheduling practices, while ensuring full compliance with FAA FAR and United Pilot Agreement work rules.
  • Assist pilots with monthly schedule management, documenting absences, processing transactions to guarantee accurate crew pay, maintaining pilot activity records, and ensuring quality by confirming FAR compliance, flight time, and qualification data.
  • Maintain expertise in Federal Aviation Regulations, pilot contract rules, and company policies to provide 24/7 support to United Airlines pilots, ensuring an exceptional level of internal customer service.
  • Support the training of new schedulers through on-the-job training.
  • Pursue opportunities for additional responsibilities related to crew scheduling operations and planning as required by operational needs.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in handling multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility and sound judgment while effectively managing stress in high-pressure situations.
  • Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid computer knowledge and adaptability to new computer technologies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of an interview that demonstrates job qualification.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential job function.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience, with additional consideration given to specialization in aviation, transportation and logistics, strategic planning, engineering, or technology.
  • 1-2 years of relevant crew scheduling or airline experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in scheduling operations and/or in a fast-paced environment that requires high-volume customer interaction.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base pay range for this role is $55,500.00 to $75,100.00. The base salary or hourly rate is based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This role is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
