About the Role:
A leading aviation operation seeks a qualified and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to join its flight operations team. This full-time professional position, based primarily in Wheeling, IL (PWK), supports operations conducted under both FAR Part 135 and FAR Part 91 regulations, with administrative oversight from North Platte, NE. The Pilot will be responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight operations, ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company General Operations Manual (GOM) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including all revisions and updates.
- Manage flight, duty, and rest periods in accordance with both CFRs and company policies.
- Maintain effective communication with flight operations personnel regarding standby duty, trip assignments, and pre- and post-flight reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication of flight schedules and any necessary updates.
- Identify and promptly report any operational or flight department issues directly to the Chief Pilot.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Required Qualifications:
- Total Flight Time: 2000 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 1000 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 250 hours
- Current First Class Medical Certificate.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the ability to obtain one.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally (e.g., Mexico, Canada, etc.).
- Must reside within a two-hour call-out time of Wheeling, IL (PWK).
- Ability to pass initial and maintain recurrent training in assigned aircraft type.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Type Rating in Learjet 45 (LJ45) strongly preferred, with a preference for 25 hours in type (company willing to type the right candidate).
- Total Time: 3000 hours.
- Experience with Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS).
- Clean FAA Record.
- Possession of a First Class Medical.
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The majority of work is performed in and around aircraft and Fixed Base Operators (FBOs)/terminals. The position requires physical dexterity sufficient for repetitive tasks and motions, including sustaining positions for extended periods. Adequate vision is necessary to safely perform essential functions. The ability to lift baggage weighing an average of 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs., is required. The role involves working in airport environments, both indoors and outdoors, potentially encountering extreme temperature ranges.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates must successfully pass a background investigation, including a fingerprint-based criminal records check as required by Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1542 and Airport Security. Must pass periodic random drug testing as required by 49 Code of Federal Regulations Part 40 for safety-sensitive employees. The position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
Salary Range:
$155,000.00 To $160,000.00 Annually
