First Officer Pilot | International Executive Jet Operations
Position Overview
The organization is seeking a highly professional and seasoned First Officer (FO) to join its elite flight operations team. The First Officer is critically responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and fully compliant operation of the assigned aircraft during all ground and flight phases. This pivotal role requires exceptional technical mastery, an unwavering commitment to exceeding the expectations of high-profile clientele, and the ability to maintain clear, effective communication across Leadership, Dispatch, and the entire operational team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Aviation Safety and Efficiency: Maintains primary administrative responsibility for the safe and efficient execution of all aircraft operations, both on the ground and in flight.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures comprehensive adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, the company’s General Operations Manual (GOM), Operational Specifications, and established departmental procedures (e.g., "Thrive’s GOM").
- Customer Experience: Committed to anticipating and exceeding sophisticated customer needs, providing service excellence, and exercising the highest level of discretion and confidentiality when serving high-profile clients.
- Coordination and Communication: Actively maintains coordination and seamless communication with the assigned crew, Dispatch, Maintenance personnel, and administrative departments.
- Reporting Structure: The First Officer is administratively responsible to the Chief Pilot.
- Additional Assignments: Executes other duties as assigned by senior leadership or management.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum Flight Experience and Expertise
- Possession of a minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
- Possession of at least 500 hours of qualifying multi-engine time.
- Demonstrated prior experience executing challenging overwater, long-haul, and complex international missions.
- Required experience in delivering prestigious levels of guest service, including interaction with high-profile clients, while maintaining the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
Required Certification and Documentation
- Current and unexpired Pilot Certificate.
- Valid Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Permit.
- Current and unexpired FAA First Class Medical Certificate (maintenance of this certificate is mandatory).
- Unrestricted, valid US Passport.
- Must be eligible to operate internationally into any country or jurisdiction without restriction.
- COVID-19 Vaccination is required for this position due to established international travel mandates.
Professional Attributes and Preferred Qualifications

- A current type rating in the applied aircraft is highly desired but is not a mandatory requirement for consideration.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must meet the following physical demands necessary to successfully perform required duties:
- Must continuously meet the standards required to hold and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Must be able to maintain the seated position within a constrained cockpit environment for extended periods necessary for long-haul operations.
Operational Environment and Travel
The role requires adaptability to the unique characteristics of flight crew positions:
- Work is typically executed while sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Interaction with customers and other flight crew occurs within the confined space of the aircraft cabin and cockpit.
- Significant travel is inherent to this role; the employee will be required to spend several days or weeks away from their designated domicile each week.
- The work schedule is irregular and unpredictable, necessitating flexibility for short-notice duty calls or notifications of canceled flights.
Domicile Requirement
Candidates must reside in, or within a two-hour commute of, one of the following major metropolitan airport areas: SNA, VNY, BUR, LAX, ONT, LGB, SAN, OAK, SFO, SJC, PDX, SEA, PHX, ABQ, LAS, RNO, DEN, DAL, DFW, AUS, DSM, IAH, HOU, PBI, FLL, MIA, TPA, MCO, ORD, PWK, ATL, GSO, CLT, TEB, LGA, EWR, JFK, or BOS. Candidates demonstrating current residence near LAS (Las Vegas) are highly preferred.
