Second in Command Pilot - Citation CJ3/CJ3+
The Waldinger Corporation, a leading mechanical, electrical, sheet metal and service contractor with branches throughout the Midwest, seeks a skilled and experienced Second in Command (SIC) Pilot to join its team. This role will support the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of a Citation CJ3 and CJ3+ aircraft, flying approximately 400 hours annually.
Responsibilities:
- Flight Operations:
- Collaborate with the Captain in pre-flight planning, reviewing weather conditions, flight plans, and aircraft performance.
- Conduct meticulous pre-flight inspections to ensure aircraft airworthiness and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Operate the aircraft in accordance with the Captain's instructions, standard operating procedures, and aviation regulations.
- Vigilantly monitor aircraft systems and instruments throughout the flight, promptly reporting any anomalies to the Captain.
- Actively participate in post-flight debriefings and assist with post-flight inspections.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Uphold rigorous compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide immediate assistance in emergency situations, adhering to established protocols and procedures to prioritize the safety of passengers and crew.
- Maintain current knowledge of aircraft systems, emergency procedures, and company regulations through continuous professional development.
- Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns or requests with utmost professionalism.
- Crew Coordination:
- Foster effective communication with the Captain, flight crew, and ground personnel to facilitate smooth operations.
- Assist in coordinating with air traffic control and maintenance personnel as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed flight logs and other required documentation.
- Promptly report any incidents, accidents, or irregularities to the appropriate authorities and company officials.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field is preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Commercial Pilot Certificate (CE-525 type rating preferred)
- CFI certification is highly desirable.
- Instrument Rating.
- Second Class Medical Certificate.
- Valid passport with no restrictions on international travel.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operating Permit.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time, with at least 500 hours as a pilot in command (PIC).
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation industry standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and passengers.
- Demonstrated composure and sound decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule: Variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Availability for on-call duty is essential.
- Travel: Extensive travel, both domestic and international, is required, often with short notice.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a rigorous medical examination and maintain physical fitness to perform the demanding duties of a pilot.
