Position Summary:

Thales is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Planner to join its team in Orlando, FL. This vital role is responsible for the meticulous planning of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, specifically supporting the Thales In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) system installed on customer aircraft. The planner will also manage program initiatives, such as scheduling modifications and software upgrades across the associated fleets.

The Aircraft Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the continuous improvement of data collection, processing, and analysis. This position involves defining objectives and requirements to align with departmental parameters and meet customer needs effectively. The role demands commitment to maintaining time and quality standards throughout the full lifecycle of all assigned projects and requires careful handling of customer-sensitive data.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Track aircraft installations and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) visits for a period of 30 days post-entry into service, identifying system discrepancies and trends.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and other strategies aimed at optimizing statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary sources to validate and reconcile data, reports, and various data measures.
  • Collaborate with the management team to establish a prioritized list of needs for each business segment while identifying new process improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze maintenance-missed opportunities, identify trends or patterns, and recommend corrective action plans.
  • Identify and propose strategies to enhance cost savings through business process streamlining.
  • Work collaboratively with supporting organizations to promptly contain problems, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions as they arise.
  • Partner with departmental managers to outline specific data requirements for each customer analysis project, providing project implementation criteria and estimates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with a minimum of 3 years of relevant project planning or execution experience; OR a Master’s degree in a related field of study with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in training and developing junior staff members in departmental operations and project planning/analytics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, demonstrating strong skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in creating and utilizing pivot tables and generating graphical interfaces for data analytics.
  • Possession of a positive and team-centered attitude is essential.
  • Ability to read technical literature, follow oral instructions, and communicate effectively with cross-functional team members.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focused attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Position Requirements:

  • Schedule: Operations are conducted in 12-hour shifts (6:00 am - 6:00 pm) on a seven-day-per-week schedule, with rotating Wednesdays required.
  • Physical Environment: Primarily an office environment.
  • Travel: This position may require domestic and/or international travel up to 10%.

Compensation:

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between $56,604.00 - $75,472.00 - $93,722.00 USD Annually. This range reflects compensation trends in similar industries and geographic regions for comparable roles. Actual placement within this range depends on various factors including the candidate's career history, competencies, skills, performance, the company’s annual salary budget, customer program requirements, and internal equity.
