Aircraft Maintenance Planner

Position Summary:

Thales is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Planner based in Orlando, FL. The Aircraft Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to support the Thales In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems installed on customer aircraft. This role includes program initiatives such as scheduling modifications and software upgrades across associated fleets. The position requires a focus on continuous improvement of data collection, processing, and analysis, as well as defining objectives and requirements to meet departmental parameters and customer needs. The planner is responsible for ensuring committed time and quality standards are met throughout the full lifecycle of all assigned projects and must handle and process customer-sensitive data with appropriate care.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Track aircraft installations and MRO visits for a period of 30 days following entry into service, noting system discrepancies and trends.
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources to validate and reconcile data, reports, and other data measures.
• Work with the management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each business segment while defining new process improvement opportunities.
• Identify trends or patterns of maintenance-missed opportunities and recommend corrective action plans.
• Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes.
• Work with supporting organizations to quickly contain problems, identify root cause, and implement permanent corrective actions as they arise.
• Collaborate with departmental managers to outline specific data needs for each customer analysis project, providing project implementation criteria and estimates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant project planning/execution experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field of study with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experienced in training and developing junior staff members in departmental operations and project planning/analytics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including strong skills using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in creating and utilizing pivot tables and generating graphical interfaces for analytics.
• Must possess a positive and team-centered attitude.
• Ability to read technical literature, follow oral instructions, and communicate effectively with cross-functional team members.
• Strong analytical skills with focus on attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Position Requirements:

• Schedule: Operations involve 12-hour shifts between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with rotating Wednesdays. The department operates on a seven-day per week schedule.
• Physical Environment: Office Environment.
• Travel: This position may require domestic and/or international travel up to 10%.

Total Target Compensation (TTC):

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between 56,604.00 - 93,722.00 USD Annually. This range reflects typical compensation for similar jobs in a similar industry and geographic region and is one data point among many factors influencing compensation decisions. Other factors include the employee’s career path history, competencies, skills and performance, as well as company budget, customer program requirements, and internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
