The Role:

An Avionics Technician showcases expertise by performing functional testing and repair of avionics, electronic, and communication systems during the final assembly of production aircraft. This role ensures the seamless integration and optimal performance of these critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of an Avionics Technician may include, but are not limited to:

• System Testing & Configuration: Testing and configuring electrical and avionics systems utilizing airplane orders, schematics, and engineering specifications.
• Component Installation: Installing and removing components and wiring for various systems such as radios, altimeters, transponders, and weather radar.
• Software Loading: Loading system software and databases as required and configuring systems.
• System Adjustment & Restoration: Adjusting or restoring systems to proper operation using hand tools and according to shop procedures and engineering requirements.
• Troubleshooting Assistance: Guiding or assisting colleagues in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, and avionics system issues.
• Quality Assurance: Ensuring the quality of work through meticulous testing and strict adherence to established standards.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, an Avionics Technician should possess the following:

• A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
• At least one year of aircraft experience, including proficiency in wire bundle routing and installation.
• Knowledge of electrical and avionics principles and the use of test equipment is required.
• At least one year of fundamental avionics and electronics experience is considered helpful.
