What You Will Be Doing

As an Avionics Technician, the individual will utilize their expertise to perform functional testing and repair of avionics, electronic, and communication systems during the final assembly of production aircraft. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless integration and optimal performance of these essential systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform system testing and configuration using airplane orders, schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Install and remove components and wiring for various systems including radios, altimeters, transponders, and weather radar.
  • Load system software and databases, configuring them as needed.
  • Adjust or restore systems to proper operation according to shop procedures and engineering requirements using hand tools.
  • Guide or assist 3-5 employees in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical, and avionics system issues.
  • Ensure the quality of work through meticulous testing and adherence to standards.

What You Need to Be Successful

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required.
  • At least one year of aircraft experience, including wire bundle routing and installation, is required.
  • Knowledge of electrical and avionics principles and the use of test equipment is required.
  • At least one year of fundamental avionics and electronics experience is helpful.
