Assistant Chief Pilot - National Aviation Network
Summit and TransMedics Aviation have joined forces to establish a National Aviation Network dedicated to facilitating organ transplant missions across the United States. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical and life-saving mission.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Chief Pilot plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the National Aviation Network. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, this individual is responsible for supervising flight crews, maintaining compliance with company policies, FAA regulations, and industry best practices. The Assistant Chief Pilot also contributes to the development, administration, coordination, and implementation of company policies, while prioritizing the highest degree of safety in all flight operations.
Essential Functions:
- Compliance and Oversight: Ensures all personnel under their authority are thoroughly familiar with and adhere to applicable policies and regulations, including but not limited to Federal Aviation Regulations, Airman's Information Manual, General Operating Manual (GOM), Operations Specifications, and Air Carrier Certificate.
- Flight Operations Supervision: Oversees all aspects of flight operations to ensure adherence to FARs and operational specifications, monitoring and correcting operational standards as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Implements and maintains high standards of quality assurance across all flight operations.
- Policy Implementation and Recommendation: Actively participates in recommending and implementing approved policies to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Operational Efficiency: Identifies, anticipates, and takes proactive measures to minimize potential delays stemming from scheduling, crew legality, or maintenance issues.
- Process Improvement: Proposes and implements improvements to operational processes and communication channels.
- Confidentiality: Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters related to client aircraft operations, sensitive information, and security issues.
- General Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot to support the overall success of the National Aviation Network.
Background and Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, iOS, and internet-based programs.
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth understanding and working knowledge of 14 CFR 119 and 135.
- Leadership Skills: Proven excellence in management and leadership skills.
- Aviation Experience: Extensive background and experience in piloting operations.
Requirements:
- Aircraft Rating: Must hold an EMB-505 Type Rating.
- Flight Time: Minimum 3,000 hours of total flight time.
- Pilot-In-Command Time: Minimum 1,500 hours of total Pilot-In-Command (PIC) time.
- Certification: Possession of an ATP Certificate.
- Medical Certification: Current First Class Medical Certificate with a clean record.
- Passport: Valid and unrestricted passport.
