Assistant Chief Pilot

Summit and TransMedics Aviation, in their collaborative effort to establish a National Aviation Network for organ transplant missions across the United States, seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as Assistant Chief Pilot.

The Assistant Chief Pilot will oversee flight crews, ensuring strict adherence to Company policy, FAA regulations, and operational procedures. This position assists the Chief Pilot in the development, administration, coordination, and implementation of company policies. This individual ensures the safety and compliance with flight standards defined by 14CFR Part 135, company Operations Specifications, and all relevant manuals. The Assistant Chief Pilot maintains the highest standards of operational safety, serving as a dedicated support to the Chief Pilot.

Essential Functions:

  • Verifies through testing and observation, that all personnel under their authority understand and comply with applicable policies and regulations including, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airman’s Information Manual, GOM, Operations Specifications, and Air Carrier Certificate.
  • Provides supervision of all flight operations.
  • Ensures quality assurance standards are met.
  • Monitors and corrects operational standards to guarantee flight operations are conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and operations specifications.
  • Recommends and implements approved policies.
  • Completes all duties assigned by the Chief Pilot.
  • Identifies, anticipates, and takes corrective measures to mitigate delays related to scheduling operations, crew legality, and maintenance.
  • Recommends improvements to processes and communication.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding all client aircraft operations and when dealing with sensitive or security matters.
  • Performs other TransMedics tasks and duties as required.

Background & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, iOS, and other internet-based programs.
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of 14CFR Parts 119 and 135.
  • Exhibits excellent management skills.
  • Has an extensive background in piloting.

Requirements:

  • Must hold an EMB-505 Type Rating.
  • Minimum of 3,000 hours of total flight time.
  • Minimum of 1,500 hours of total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • Possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Maintain a current First Class Medical Certificate and a clean record.
  • Possess a valid and unrestricted passport.
