The Role: Avro RJ First Officer

The Avro RJ First Officer is integral to the flight operations team, sharing responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional execution of all assigned flights. This role requires an unwavering commitment to the company's safety culture, strong operational proficiency, and the dedication to prioritize safety for all clients and stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following core duties:

• Operate the Avro RJ 85/100 aircraft safely and efficiently, strictly adhering to all regulatory guidelines and company operational procedures.
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and conduct, effectively representing Summit Air to clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Proactively contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the organization’s robust Safety Management System (SMS).

Mandatory Pilot Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must satisfy the following minimum qualifications and demonstrate prerequisite experience:

• Possession of a current Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or successful completion of the written IATRA examination.
• A minimum total flight time of 1,000 hours.
• A minimum of 500 hours accumulated in multi-engine aircraft.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC or "Red Pass").
• A strong, demonstrable commitment to fostering and upholding a positive safety culture.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills essential for effective crew resource management (CRM).
• Successful completion of all mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements.

*Note: While previous jet experience is preferred, it is not considered essential for candidacy.
