Position Overview
Solairus Aviation is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Challenger 604 / CJ3 Captain to join an established operation based at the San Antonio International Airport (KSAT). This pivotal role requires an exceptional aviation professional who is committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, service, and integrity. Essential Responsibilities and Duties
The Challenger 604 / CJ3 Captain is primarily responsible for the safe and prudent operation of the assigned aircraft, ensuring all flights are conducted in strict accordance with Solairus Aviation policies, procedures, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive pre-flight inspections in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
- Thoroughly reviewing the aircraft's maintenance status to ensure airworthiness.
- Performing complete checks of weather conditions and facility status along the intended route, including primary and alternate airports.
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers, the aircraft, and the crew throughout all phases of flight.
- Accurately completing all required trip paperwork and documentation in accordance with current operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum flight hour requirements:
- Total Time: 3,000 hours
- Pilot In Command (PIC): 1,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land PIC: 500 hours
- Time in Turbojet Aircraft: 500 hours
- Instrument Time: 250 hours
Specific Qualifications and Certifications
- Must hold a current type rating for the Challenger 604, CJ3, or a comparable aircraft.
- Possession of a valid First Class Medical Certificate is required.
- Ability to work on an on-call basis, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to operational needs.
- Must be able to complete ICAO International procedures training annually.
- Primary residence must be within a two-hour drive from San Antonio International Airport (KSAT), or the candidate must be willing to relocate.
Compensation and Benefits

Based on these considerations, crew members are typically compensated within a range of $50,000 to $500,000 annually.
