Pilot Positions: Pilot in Command (PIC) and Second in Command (SIC)

Talon Air presents an exciting opportunity for highly qualified aviation professionals to join its esteemed flight crew. The company is actively seeking skilled and experienced Pilots in Command (PICs) and Second in Command (SICs) for a variety of aircraft within its diverse fleet.

Most positions are home-based, offering significant flexibility. The majority of the fleet operates on a structured 12 days on, 8 days off rotation, with the first and twelfth days designated for both travel and work duties.

The company is currently hiring PICs and SICs for the following aircraft types: Hawker 4000, Falcon 2000, G200, Challenger 350, Challenger 604, and GV (Captains).

Pilot in Command (PIC) Qualifications:

Candidates applying for a Pilot in Command position must meet the following requirements:

  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is mandatory.
  • A specific type rating for the aircraft applied for is required.
  • A minimum of 3,500 hours of total flight time.
  • A minimum of 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command.
  • A minimum of 3,000 hours in multi-engine aircraft (MEL).
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command in multi-engine aircraft.
  • Possession of a valid FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
  • Possession of a valid Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization to ensure unrestricted travel to and from Canada as a commercial pilot.
  • Compliance with ICAO Annex I – 2.1.10 requirements concerning pilots engaged in international commercial air transport operations with more than one pilot.
  • Previous experience of at least one year operating under FAA Part 135 regulations is preferred.

Second in Command (SIC) Qualifications:

Candidates applying for a Second in Command position must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time.
  • A minimum of 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command.
  • A minimum of 500 hours in multi-engine aircraft (MEL).
  • Demonstrated experience in jet or turboprop aircraft is required.
  • Possession of a valid FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
  • Possession of a valid Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization to ensure unrestricted travel to and from Canada as a commercial pilot.
  • Compliance with ICAO Annex I – 2.1.10 requirements concerning pilots engaged in international commercial air transport operations with more than one pilot.
  • Previous experience of at least one year operating under FAA Part 135 regulations is preferred.
  • A specific type rating is not required for the SIC position.
