Flight Attendant

Solairus Aviation seeks a dedicated and highly skilled Full-Time Flight Attendant to join its Los Angeles-based operation. This individual will be an adaptable team member, committed to providing exceptional service and ensuring passenger safety and comfort at all times. A strong culinary background and passion for food is essential, with advanced culinary training highly preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Flight Attendant will deliver a high level of service to clients, prioritizing passenger safety and comfort throughout all flights. They will direct and assist passengers during emergencies, administer basic first aid including CPR, AED, and general first aid, to passengers in distress. The role includes securing the cabin in accordance with federal regulations before takeoff and landing, and providing reassurance to passengers during turbulent or unsettling situations. The Flight Attendant conducts preflight briefings, ensures sufficient on-board supplies (food, beverages, blankets, reading materials, emergency equipment), shops for passenger-specific requests, inspects, cleans, and stocks the cabin, galley, lavatories, and flight deck after each flight leg, and completes preflight, in-flight, and post-flight paperwork. They are also responsible for operating audio and video systems, as well as periodic cabin checks.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and hold a valid First Aid Training Certification. A minimum of five years of experience as a Corporate Flight Attendant is required, with flight attendant-specific training from FlightSafety, FACTs, or a similar institution strongly preferred; annual recurrent training is mandatory. Candidates without formal flight attendant training may be considered based on other qualifications, but must complete initial training prior to flight assignments. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed FlightSafety, FACTs, or similar training within the last 12 months. The ideal candidate will be technologically proficient, flexible, patient, and possess strong culinary skills, including advanced culinary training. They must be able to manage a fluctuating schedule, including late-night flights, be available for short-notice assignments (2-3 hour standby response), and possess the unrestricted ability to travel worldwide. The position may require deployments of up to 16 consecutive days. Proficiency in operating Cabin Management Systems and all galley and cabin equipment is crucial. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as a high level of attention to detail are essential. A college degree is preferred, as is fluency in one or more foreign languages and prior experience with small children.

Specific Qualifications/Certifications:

Vision must be correctable to 20/20 or better with glasses or contact lenses and uncorrected vision must be no worse than 20/20. The candidate must be able to read reports, charts, manage post-flight paperwork, and utilize computer, smartphone and/or iPad devices. The ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively over the phone and in person with clients, coworkers, and pilots, is required, even when the aircraft is in flight. The individual must be physically capable of standing for up to 14 hours with limited ability to sit, be able to work long hours in various climates and maneuver in tight confinements within the aircraft. This position requires the ability to push open/pull closed the main cabin door (up to 130 pounds), write, type, use a computer and phone, prepare/cook and serve food and beverages, and lift supplies weighing approximately 25 to 30 pounds repeatedly.

Compensation:

Solairus Aviation offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $500,000, dependent upon geographic area, experience, equipment type/aircraft, job duties, training, and the assigned account.
