Pilot Position Requirements
To be considered for a pilot position at SkyWest Airlines, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
General Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Hold an FAA Commercial License with Multi and Instrument Ratings.
- Possess an English Proficiency Endorsement (EPE) on their Airman Certificate.
- Possess a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate, which will be verified during the interview process.
- Be a U.S. citizen or be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Hold an FCC Radiotelephone Operator's Permit.
- Possess a current Passport or other valid travel documents that allow for unrestricted entry and re-entry into the United States, including multiple re-entry status. Applicants must also be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and possess appropriate working documents.
- Be available to work on any day of the week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Be available for call-outs with as little as two hours' notice, on any day, night, weekend, or holiday. Call-out availability will be determined based on pilot bidding seniority and other relevant factors.
Experience Requirements:
- Be within three months of meeting the minimum hour requirements outlined in FAR 61.159.
- Fulfill the ATP Written Requirement. SkyWest Airlines provides the necessary resources for applicants to complete a SkyWest-approved CTP course following a successful pilot interview.
Helicopter and Glider Time:
SkyWest Airlines recognizes the transferable skills associated with helicopter and glider flying. Applicants may count helicopter or glider time towards their total flight experience, provided they have a minimum of 250 PIC hours in fixed-wing aircraft.
