Role Overview:
The Lead Captain is entrusted with the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This is a role requiring a pilot who continuously refines their skills and collaborates seamlessly with the crew. The successful candidate will be an adaptable professional, comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers, crew, and the aircraft at all times.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, adhering to the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
- Meticulously plan and execute flight operations, including route planning, fuel management, and weight and balance calculations.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of weather conditions and facility status along the planned route, including alternate airports.
- Strictly adhere to all policies set by Silver Air and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Complete all trip-related paperwork accurately and in accordance with current procedures.
- Act as a liaison between the aircraft owner and Silver Air departments, ensuring efficient and compliant operation within the management plan.
- Serve as a leader and mentor to all crew members assigned to the aircraft.
- Collaborate with the dedicated Maintenance Manager to coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Ensure the aircraft is fully stocked and mission-ready for all owner and charter flights.
- Partner with People and Culture regarding all crewing activities, including developing crew plans and communicating with relevant parties.
- Participate in the scheduling of flight crew and coordinate with Flight Support to establish equitable schedules.
- Manage resources efficiently and cost-effectively, both internal and external.
- Provide training and guidance on Aviation Resource Management (ARM) best practices.
- Review monthly financial statements with the Accounting and Maintenance Managers.
Candidate Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess significant aviation experience and meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 3500 total flight hours, with 3000 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
- At least 3000 hours of multi-engine flight time, with 2000 hours as PIC.
- Preferred 1750 hours of total turbine flight time.
- A minimum of 200 hours in the specific airplane type, with 100 hours as PIC.
- Type rating on a GIV, or comparable aircraft.
- Possession of a valid First Class Medical Certificate.
- Preferred experience under Part 135 regulations.
- Full compliance with ICAO Annex I - 2.1.1.0 regarding aircraft engaged in international commercial air transport operations with more than one pilot.
- The ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to/from Canada.
