Pilot
Aviation Professional is sought to support the Aircraft Captain, ensuring the safe and punctual operation of flights while fulfilling other essential aircraft management duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Captain in meticulous flight planning, utilizing all pertinent weather data, adhering to Company protocols and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Verifies aircraft airworthiness as per FARs and company guidelines, including completion of comprehensive preflight inspections.
- Collaborates with the Captain to ensure proper flight planning and fueling for safe operations in compliance with all regulations and policies.
- Operates aircraft safely and effectively during designated duty periods, following the Captain’s directives, FARs, and Company standards.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of all equipment, relevant FARs, and operational manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Informs crew and passengers of any factors affecting flight, including turbulence.
- Completes the flight load manifest.
- Contributes to on-time performance by assisting the Captain in meeting all required times.
- Assists in the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at the terminal.
- Maintains consistent and reliable attendance as per company policy.
- Presents a professional appearance and adheres to company uniform standards.
- Conducts oneself professionally, observing all company rules and guidelines.
- Continuously seeks professional development to enhance performance and skills.
- Performs additional duties as directed by the Company and the Captain.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Meets minimum requirements for an ATP or R-ATP certificate.
- ATP written exam preferred.
- Meets all current minimum age and flight hour requirements set by the FAA and Company for interviews and hiring.
- Candidates interviewing with minimum criteria, but not hiring criteria, may be eligible for hire if they meet hiring requirements within six months of the interview date; have no certificate actions, misdemeanors, or felonies since the interview date; and accept a class date within six months of the interview date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service, preferably within the aviation sector.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents, regulations, and other instructions, particularly under time-sensitive and high-pressure conditions.
- Able to effectively communicate and respond to inquiries from management, dispatch, crew, passengers, air traffic control, and the public.
- Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly including verbal commands during emergencies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to handle diverse situations with limited standardization.
- Demonstrates ability to stay calm and act swiftly in a range of emergency situations, including medical issues, decompression, evacuations, security threats and turbulence.
- Able to make sound decisions, often under pressure, with a focus on safety and efficient resource allocation.
- Capable of maintaining professional composure and effectively managing emotional responses under stress.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting and/or crawling.
- Ability to sit for long durations.
- Able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
- Meets all visual standards established by the FAA.
- Capable of clear verbal communication in person, via telephone, and through headsets, even in noisy environments.
- Must have the stamina needed to work extended hours with changing temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
- Able to move freely and effectively within aircraft and in confined spaces.
- Must be able to sit in the pilot's seat or jump seat, secured with all safety harnesses.
Work Environment:
- Must be capable of working near moving mechanical components.
- Able to withstand varied outdoor conditions for extended periods.
- Be comfortable working in noisy environments, where the use of a headset is required.
- Willing and able to work extended hours on sequential days, with a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
- Adaptable to extended hours with limited scheduling control and minimal notice for duty.
- Willing to relocate based on operational demands.
