Pilot

A qualified individual is sought to support the Aircraft Captain, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft, while also performing essential aircraft management tasks. This position demands a commitment to safety, professionalism, and adherence to all company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Captain in comprehensive flight planning, utilizing all pertinent weather information and reports in accordance with company procedures and FARs.
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm the aircraft's airworthiness, in compliance with FARs and company standards.
  • Ensure accurate flight planning and fueling procedures alongside the Captain to guarantee safe operations.
  • Operate the aircraft safely and effectively, adhering to the Captain's instructions, FARs, and company guidelines.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of all operational equipment, relevant FARs, manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Keep crew and passengers informed of any conditions, such as turbulence, that could affect flight operations.
  • Complete the necessary load manifests for each flight.
  • Contribute to reliable and on-time operations by assisting the Captain in meeting all report times, departure schedules, and minimum turn times.
  • Oversee the proper handling of the aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo while at the terminal.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Present a professional appearance and adhere to company uniform policies.
  • Conduct oneself professionally at all times, adhering to the company's Rules of Conduct.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance performance and skills.
  • Perform additional duties as delegated by the Company and the Captain.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must meet minimum requirements for an ATP or R-ATP certificate.
  • ATP written exam completion is preferred.
  • Meet current interview and hiring minimum age and flight hour requirements as established by the FAA and the company.
    • Candidates meeting interview minimums but not hiring minimums will be eligible for hire if the following conditions are met:
      • Hiring minimums are met within six months of the interview date.
      • No certificate action has occurred since the date of the interview.
      • No misdemeanors or felonies have occurred since the interview date.
      • Class date is accepted within six months of the interview date.
  • Prior customer service experience, ideally in an aviation-related field, is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, interpret, and understand technical procedures and governmental regulations, particularly under stressful conditions.
  • Proficiency in effectively conveying information to and addressing queries from management, dispatch, crew, passengers, air traffic control, and the general public.
  • Capability to communicate verbally in English, including the ability to issue clear commands during emergency situations.
  • Proven ability to solve practical problems and adapt to diverse situations with limited standardization.
  • Capacity to interpret various instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Ability to remain composed and react effectively in emergency situations, including but not limited to medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
  • Competence in making decisions that support strategic objectives, with a recognition that some decisions may have safety-of-flight implications.
  • Ability to quickly process information and respond effectively in unexpected situations.
  • Capable of managing personal emotional responses and acting appropriately under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and crawl.
  • Capable of sitting for extended periods without standing.
  • Able to lift or move items at various heights weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Meets FAA visual acuity requirements.
  • Able to hear and understand verbal communication in person, on the telephone, and over a headset, despite ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Possess the stamina needed to work long hours on sequential days in varied temperature, climate, and weather conditions.
  • Able to move about the aircraft efficiently in a confined space.
  • Able to sit in a pilot's seat or assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Able to withstand outdoor weather conditions within an open-air hangar and on the flight line for extended periods.
  • The noise level may be loud; headset use is required.
  • Willing and able to work extended duty periods on sequential days, as well as a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
  • Capable of working extended hours with limited control over scheduling and the ability to report to work on short notice.
  • Willing to relocate based on company operational needs.
