Pilot

Aviation professionals are invited to apply for the position of Pilot. This role supports the Aircraft Captain in ensuring the safe and timely operation of aircraft, while also performing essential aircraft management duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Captain in comprehensive flight planning, utilizing all relevant weather data and adhering to company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Verify the airworthiness of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with FARs and company standards through meticulous preflight inspections.
  • Participate in ensuring the flight is correctly planned and fueled to ensure safety and regulatory adherence.
  • Operate the aircraft safely and effectively according to the Captain's direction, FARs, and company protocols.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the equipment, relevant FARs, manuals, company policies, and procedures.
  • Inform crew and passengers of any conditions that could affect the flight, such as turbulence.
  • Complete the load manifest for each flight.
  • Aid in ensuring reliable, on-time operations by collaborating with the Captain to meet all report, departure, and turn times.
  • Provide support in the terminal, overseeing the appropriate handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo.
  • Maintain consistent and dependable attendance, complying with company procedures.
  • Uphold a professional image and adhere to the company dress code.
  • Conduct oneself professionally while on duty, adhering to all company guidelines outlined in the Flight Operations Manual, Associate Handbook, and related documents.
  • Pursue continuous professional development to enhance performance and abilities.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Company and the Captain.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must satisfy the minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate.
  • ATP written certification is preferred.
  • Meet the current age and flight hour minimums established by the FAA and the company for both interview and hiring criteria.
  • Candidates who meet interview criteria but not hiring minimums may be eligible for hire upon meeting all hiring minimums within six months of the interview date, provided there are no certificate actions, misdemeanors, or felonies, and the candidate accepts a class date within six months.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in customer service, ideally in an aviation context.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, interpreting, and understanding technical procedures and governmental regulations, particularly in stressful or emergency situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to and respond to inquiries from management, dispatch, crew, passengers, air traffic control, and the general public.
  • Possess strong verbal communication skills in English, including the capacity to issue clear commands during emergencies.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in varied situations with limited standardization.
  • Capable of understanding and interpreting multiple instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Maintain composure and quick reaction times in all types of emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, decompression, evacuations, fires, security breaches, disturbances, and turbulence.
  • Ability to make sound decisions that support strategic direction.
  • Capable of processing information rapidly and reacting positively during unexpected or serious situations.
  • Must be able to control personal and emotional responses appropriately under pressure.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and crawl.
  • Ability to sit for extended durations without standing.
  • Capacity to lift or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Must meet FAA visual standards.
  • Ability to clearly hear and understand verbal communications in person, on the phone, and via headsets amid aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Possess the endurance to work long days, over multiple days, with changes in temperature, climate and weather.
  • Capability to move within the aircraft and quickly perform all required duties in a confined environment.
  • Must be able to sit in a pilot's seat or jump seat with safety restraints without modifications.

Work Environment:

  • This role requires working near moving mechanical parts.
  • Must tolerate various outdoor conditions within open-air hangars and flight lines for significant periods.
  • The environment may involve high noise levels, necessitating the use of headsets.
  • Must be available for extended duty periods over multiple days, and be flexible with a varied schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, and weekends.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is a frequent requirement (up to 100% of the time), which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
  • Must be prepared for extended hours with minimal scheduling control and be ready to report to work with minimal notice.
  • Willing to relocate based on company operational requirements.
