First Officer Position at Republic Airways
Republic Airways, a leading North American regional airline, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer to join our dynamic team. The First Officer will collaborate closely with the Captain, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely operation of our Embraer 170/175 aircraft fleet. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in pre-flight planning, leveraging all available weather data and reports in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections to confirm aircraft airworthiness in accordance with FARs and company procedures.
- Collaborate with the Captain to ensure accurate flight planning, including fuel calculations, for safe and compliant operations.
- Execute proficient and safe aircraft operation throughout the duty period, following the Captain's instructions and adhering to all relevant regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, FARs, company manuals, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with crew and passengers regarding weather conditions and other operational factors impacting the flight.
- Complete accurate load manifests for each flight.
- Contribute to on-time performance by supporting the Captain in meeting all reporting, departure, and turnaround times.
- Assist with the efficient handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at the terminal.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
- Present a professional appearance at all times, adhering to company uniform standards and upholding the company's Code of Conduct.
- Actively pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and capabilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Captain or company management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must meet minimum requirements for an ATP or RATP certificate; ATP written exam preferred.
- Meet current minimum age and flight hour requirements for both interview and hiring. Candidates meeting interview minimums but not hiring minimums may be considered for conditional employment contingent upon fulfilling all hiring minimums within six months, maintaining a clean certificate record, and a clean criminal background check, and accepting a class date within six months of the interview.
- Prior customer service experience in an aviation environment is preferred.

- Physical ability to perform duties including climbing, balancing, lifting (up to 75 lbs), and sitting for extended periods. Must meet FAA visual and auditory standards and possess stamina for long duty days under variable weather conditions. Must be able to comfortably fit in the pilot's seat without modifications.
Work Environment and Travel:
This position requires working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and working in loud environments (headset required). Expect extended duty periods, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel is up to 100%, including overnight stays. Relocation may be required based on company operational needs.
