Pilot Position
The successful candidate must possess either an Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence or an Australian Commercial Pilot Licence, along with successful completion of all Australian ATPL Theory examinations. International applicants should refer to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) website for specific licence information. A minimum English Language Proficiency Level 6, as indicated on the candidate's license, is required. The candidate must hold current endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on a valid Australian Instrument Rating for Multi Engine Aeroplane. New Zealand applicants must convert their licenses and ratings to Australian standards before applying. The applicant should demonstrate a total aeronautical experience of 700 hours or more. A minimum of 250 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) experience in a multi-engine aeroplane (MEA), excluding Instrument Check Under Supervision (ICUS) and simulator time, is required. Alternatively, 250 hours of PIC time in a single-engine turbine aircraft exceeding 3,400kg MTOW, or 250 hours as a co-pilot in a multi-engine turbine, multi-crew aircraft is acceptable (excluding ICUS & simulator time). A current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate is mandatory. The candidate must be willing and able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test and must be eligible to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), understanding that they will be required to undertake extensive background and security checks at their own expense. The candidate must hold a valid passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call, with at least 12 months validity.
