B737 First Officer - Cargo Operations

Position Overview:
ASL Airlines Ireland is seeking experienced B737 (300-900) First Officers for a long-term assignment supporting dedicated cargo operations. The primary role of the First Officer is to support the Commander in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of flight duties. In the event of the Commander's incapacitation, the First Officer is responsible for assuming command of the aircraft.
Key Accountabilities:
- Execute flight-related duties in adherence to Company Standard Operating Procedures, including aircraft-specific procedures, limitations, and performance parameters, as assigned by the Commander.
- Actively contribute to fostering an environment conducive to effective understanding and cooperation among all crew members.
- Advise the Commander if, in the First Officer's professional judgment, any aspect of flight preparation appears to have been overlooked.
- Ensure accurate navigation of the aircraft, maintaining continuous and independent verification of both the aircraft's geographical position and its safe terrain clearance. Provide advice, information, and assistance to the Commander as necessary to contribute positively to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Obtain necessary information and explanations from the Commander to effectively fulfil their role.
- Uphold high personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance, reflecting professionalism as a representative of the Company.
- Support the Commander by setting an active example in developing and maintaining high standards of professional expertise and morale within the crew. Verify the validity of the operational flight plan and, when required, file the Air Traffic Services Flight Plan with the relevant Authority. If stored flight plans are utilised, ensure the correct plan has been activated.
Requirements:
To be considered for this long-term assignment, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
- Minimum of 200 hours as an approved course graduate.
- Possess a valid EASA-issued ATPL or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with a frozen ATPL, and a multi-engine instrument rating (IR).
- Hold a certificate confirming satisfactory completion of Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) in accordance with FCL.745.A.
- Hold a certificate confirming satisfactory completion of multi-crew co-operation (MCC) in accordance with AMC1 FCL.735.A.
- Submission of a flight school report is mandatory.
- The flight school report must be written in English and signed by the Flight School’s Head of Training (HOT). This applies to both Integrated and Modular students. The report must detail all ATPL results (including any repeats), CPL & MEIR series passes, and provide information regarding your performance throughout training.
- Cadets who completed a modular course must have 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC). This requirement is reduced to 70 hours as PIC if completed during a course of integrated flying training as outlined in Appendix 3 A, C & D to Part-FCL and AMC1 to Appendix 3 A, C & D.
- Hold, or be willing to convert to, an Irish Licence.
- Possess ICAO English Language Proficiency at Level 4 minimum.
- Hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
- The assigned base will be in Germany; candidates must reside within 90 minutes of the assigned base.
Assessment and Selection:
The selection process includes the following stages:
- AON Pre-Assessment Test.
- The selection procedure will take place in Dublin, Ireland.
- A personnel interview (HR and Flight Operations), approximately 45 minutes in duration.
- A pre-simulator briefing.
- A simulator assessment in a B737 simulator, lasting 45 minutes, with candidates assessed as Pilot Flying (PF). Basic handling skills, Crew Resource Management (CRM), and flight management abilities will be evaluated.
