Role Summary
ASL Airlines (Ireland) is seeking experienced B737 (300-900) First Officers for a long-term assignment supporting vital cargo operations. The primary purpose of this role is to provide essential assistance to the Commander in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of all flights. In the event of the Commander's incapacitation, the First Officer is responsible for assuming command of the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute allocated duties concerning the flight in strict adherence to Company Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations, and performance parameters specific to the aircraft type.
- Actively contribute to fostering an environment that promotes strong understanding and effective cooperation among all crew members.
- Advise the Commander if, in the First Officer's professional opinion, any aspect of the flight preparation appears to have been overlooked.
- Maintain vigilance over the safe navigation of the aircraft, continuously and independently verifying the aircraft's geographical position and ensuring safe terrain clearance. Offer pertinent advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to enhance the safe and efficient execution of the flight.
- Seek and obtain necessary information and/or explanations from the Commander to effectively fulfill the First Officer's duties.
- Uphold the highest personal standards of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of the Company.
- Support the Commander through exemplary conduct in developing and maintaining high standards of professional expertise and morale within the crew.
- Ensure the validity of the operational flight plan and, when required, file the Air Traffic Services Flight Plan with the appropriate Authority. If stored plans are utilized, verify the correct plan has been activated.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this assignment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess 200 hours as an approved course graduate.
- Hold a valid EASA-issued ATPL or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with frozen ATPL and a multi-engine instrument rating (IR).
- Hold a certificate demonstrating satisfactory completion of Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) in accordance with FCL.745.A.
- Hold a certificate demonstrating satisfactory completion of multi-crew co-operation (MCC) in accordance with AMC1 FCL.735.A.
- Provide a flight school report written in English and signed by the Flight School's Head of Training (HOT). This applies to both Integrated and Modular students. The report must include all ATPL results (detailing any repeats), CPL & MEIR series passes, and information regarding performance throughout training.
- Modular course cadets must have 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), or 70 hours as PIC if completed during a course of integrated flying training as set out in Appendix 3 A, C & D to Part-FCL and AMC1 to Appendix 3 A, C & D.
- Currently hold, or be willing to convert to, an Irish Licence.
- Hold ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 minimum.
- Possess a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Base location will be in Germany; candidates must reside within 90 minutes of the assigned base.
Selection Process
The assessment and selection procedure includes:
- AON Pre-Assessment Test.
- Selection procedure conducted in Dublin (Ireland).
- Personnel interview (HR and Flight Operations) – Approximately 45 minutes.
- Pre-simulator briefing.
- Simulator assessment in a B737 simulator – 45 minutes as Pilot Flying (PF). Assessment covers basic handling skills, CRM, and flight management.
