Position: B737 First Officer (Cargo)

ASL Airlines (Ireland) is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced B737 (300-900) First Officers for a long-term assignment, specifically supporting its dynamic cargo operations. The First Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of all flights, providing essential support to the Commander. In the unforeseen event of the Commander's incapacitation, the First Officer is prepared to assume full command of the aircraft.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Executing flight duties strictly in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures, including adherence to aircraft-specific procedures, limitations, and performance parameters, as assigned by the Commander.
  • Actively fostering an environment that promotes understanding, effective communication, and strong cooperation among all crew members.
  • Diligently reviewing flight preparation and promptly advising the Commander of any perceived oversights.
  • Confirming the safe navigation of the aircraft by continuously and independently monitoring its geographical position and maintaining safe terrain clearance; proactively offering advice, information, and assistance to the Commander to contribute positively to the flight's safety and efficiency.
  • Seeking and obtaining necessary information or explanations from the Commander to effectively fulfill the First Officer's duties.
  • Upholding the highest personal standards of discipline, conduct, and professional appearance as a representative of ASL Airlines.
  • Supporting the Commander through active example in cultivating and sustaining high standards of professional expertise and morale within the crew; ensuring the operational flight plan's validity and, when required, filing the Air Traffic Services Flight Plan with the appropriate authority. This also includes verifying the activation of the correct plan if stored plans are utilized.

Requirements

Prospective candidates must meet the following stringent criteria to be considered for this vital assignment:

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 200 flight hours as an approved course graduate.
  • Possession of a valid EASA-issued Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with a frozen ATPL, coupled with a multi-engine instrument rating (IR).
  • Certification of satisfactory completion of Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) in compliance with FCL.745.A.
  • Certification of satisfactory completion of Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) training in accordance with AMC1 FCL.735.A.
  • Submission of an official flight school report, written in English and signed by the Flight School's Head of Training (HOT). This requirement applies to both Integrated and Modular students. The report must comprehensively detail all ATPL results (including any repeats), CPL & MEIR series passes, and provide information pertaining to the candidate's performance throughout their training.
  • For cadets who have completed a modular course, a minimum of 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) is required. Alternatively, 70 hours as PIC is acceptable if completed during a course of integrated flying training as stipulated in Appendix 3 A, C & D to Part-FCL and AMC1 to Appendix 3 A, C & D.
  • Possession of an Irish Licence or a demonstrated willingness to convert to an Irish Licence.
  • Minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4.
  • Hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
  • Eligibility to legally live and work within the European Union.
  • Willingness to be based in Germany and reside within 90 minutes of the assigned operational base.

Assessment and Selection Process:

The comprehensive selection process is designed to identify top-tier talent and includes:

  • Completion of an AON Pre-Assessment Test.
  • Participation in the selection procedure conducted in Dublin, Ireland.
  • A personnel interview (with HR and Flight Operations representatives), approximately 45 minutes in duration.
  • A pre-simulator briefing session.
  • A 45-minute B737 simulator assessment, during which candidates will perform as Pilot Flying (PF). This assessment will evaluate basic handling skills, Crew Resource Management (CRM), and overall flight management capabilities.
