B737 First Officer - Cargo Operations

ASL Airlines (Ireland) invites applications from experienced B737 (300-900) First Officers for a long-term assignment supporting vital cargo operations. The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Commander in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of all flights. In the event of the Commander's incapacitation, the First Officer is responsible for assuming command of the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned duties concerning the flight in strict accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures, including procedures, limitations, and performance specifics for the aircraft type.
- Contribute to fostering a positive atmosphere of cooperation and mutual understanding among crew members.
- Advise the Commander if, in their opinion, any aspect of flight preparation may have been overlooked.
- Confirm the safe navigation of the aircraft, maintaining continuous and independent checks on the aircraft's geographical position and safe terrain clearance.
- Provide advice, information, and assistance to the Commander that contributes favourably to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.
- Seek and obtain necessary information and explanations from the Commander to effectively fulfil the First Officer's function.
- Uphold a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance, representing the Company professionally at all times.
- Actively support the Commander in the development and maintenance of high standards of professional expertise and morale within the crew.
- Ensure the validity of the operational flight plan and, when required, file the Air Traffic Services Flight Plan with the appropriate Authority, verifying the correct stored plan is activated if used.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered for this assignment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Possess 200 hours as an approved course graduate.
- Hold a valid EASA-issued Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with frozen ATPL, and a multi-engine instrument rating (IR).
- Hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) in accordance with FCL.745.A.
- Hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of multi-crew co-operation (MCC) in accordance with AMC1 FCL.735.A.
- Provide a Flight school report written in English, signed by the Flight School’s Head of Training (HOT). This report must include all ATPL results (detailing any repeats), CPL & MEIR series passes, and information relating to performance throughout training. This requirement applies to both Integrated and Modular students.
- Modular course cadets must have 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), or 70 hours as PIC if completed during a course of integrated flying training as set out in Appendix 3 A, C & D to Part-FCL and AMC1 to Appendix 3 A, C & D.
- Hold, or be willing to convert to, an Irish Licence.
- Possess ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 minimum.
- Hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Must be eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Must be based in Germany and reside within 90 minutes of the assigned base.
Assessment and Selection:
The selection process typically includes an AON Pre Assessment Test, followed by assessments held in Dublin, Ireland. These assessments comprise a personnel interview with HR and Flight Operations representatives (approximately 45 minutes), a pre-simulator briefing, and a 45-minute B737 simulator assessment acting as Pilot Flying (PF). The simulator assessment will evaluate basic handling skills, Crew Resource Management (CRM), and flight management capabilities.
