, the Second in Command (SIC) will be instrumental in ensuring safe flight operations and mission success. This role offers a competitive annual salary of $84,000.
About the Role

Serve as Second in Command (SIC) on SAAB 340 turboprop aircraft.

Support the Captain through all flight phases: pre-flight planning, execution, and post-flight mission requirements.

Contribute to a safety-focused environment, upholding high operational standards.
Responsibilities

Ensure strict compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and scheduling.

Assist Captain in safe, efficient flight conduct from planning to termination.

Complete all mission-related paperwork, manage receipts, and documentation.

Demonstrate proficiency and judgment commensurate with Captain responsibilities.

Adhere to FAR 135.267, maintaining joint responsibility for flight/duty time and qualifications.
Requirements
-
Total Flight Time: Minimum 500 hours; Maximum 5,000 hours.

Multi-Engine Flight Time: Minimum 25 hours.

Valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings (CMELI).

Valid FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) rating.

Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate (First Class preferred).

Valid U.S. Passport, unrestricted for travel.

Residency within 60 minutes of Point Mugu Navy Base, CA.

Ability to pass comprehensive security background check and drug screening.

Clean FAA record, free of violations or enforcement actions.

Turbine aircraft and/or SAAB 340 specific flight time is highly desirable.
Qualifications

Demonstrated recent flight experience.

Proven understanding and application of aviation regulations.

Valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit or equivalent.

Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with applicable aircraft type ratings is advantageous.
Physical Demands

Remain seated for extended periods in pilot’s/jump seat, securely fastened.

Meet FAA medical standards for visual acuity.

Clear hearing for verbal communications in person, telephone, and headset amidst aircraft noise.

Move freely, effectively, and quickly within confined aircraft environment.

Dexterity for fingering, handling, feeling, and reaching with hands/arms.
-
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Required vision includes close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
